Chapter 5

I walked back to the Avengers building and decided to take another way that was possibly faster. On the way I went past a building that looked a little different then the others, it looked like it was older and had a weird pattern on the window. I ignored it and walked until I arrived at the building. When I got in I could hear Tony and Steve talk to someone in the living room. I walked in and saw a man with short dark hair, beard, dark blue clothes, red cape and a necklace that was glowing green. It was really strange because he was sitting but floating in mid air at the same time. He looked at me.

"And who might you be little girl?" he asked.

I stepped in to the room standing next to Steve and Tony.

"I am Cassandra. And who are you?"

"I am dr. Stephen Strange. I must say you look odd."

"Says the man wearing a cape floating in mid air." I respond and I can hear a chuckle from Tony.

"Sorry, let me rephrase that. You look familiar." he says tilting his head ever so

slightly. I inspect him and start to believe that he's some sort of sorcerous or one of the learned. My heart rate picks up and I get nervous, what if he knows who I am and all of my history? Everything that I have done in the past.

"I have read about you." he says confirming my thoughts.

"You were cursed, in a small village in Sweden. You don't age anymore. Is it really true that you have participated in more than one hundred wars throughout the years?" he asks me.

"Well not exactly a hundred, more like fifteen." I answer.

I can feel that both Steve and Tony is looking at me.

"Would you like to swing by sometime and answer some more questions? You can find me in the strange looking building you past on your way here." Stephen asks.

"Fine, is it okay if I come by tomorrow after school?"

"Just knock on the door and I'll let you in. Now it has been a pleasure meeting you, Tony and Steve but I must return now." he says before disappearing into thin air.

I look at Steve and Tony but they just shake their head. I shrug and move to the kitchen but I can hear footsteps following me, my guess is Tony. I open the fridge and take out an apple and take a bite out of it.

"So, how was it at Peter's?" he asks.

"It was good, he reacted a bit strange to the surprise but we had a good time." I answer.

He fiddles a bit with his fingers and nods his head slowly, he has his eyebrows furrowed. That is the face he makes when he wants something but is somewhat afraid to ask for it. I sigh and finish the apple.

"What do you want?" I ask him.

He shoots up his head and you can see a sparkle of hope in his eyes.

"It's not really something I want, but..I'm wondering if it would be okay for me and dr. Banner to run some tests on you?" he says not making eye contact.

I think about it and can't really find a reason to not do it.

"Sure, do you want to do it now?" I ask.

"Wait, really?"

"Yes."

"Well dr.Banner is waiting in the lab so we can do it now." he says and heads for the lab.

We walk into the lab where dr. Banner already is looking at different DNA strands.

"Dr. Banner, I don't think you have been properly introduced. Bruce this is Cassie, Cassie this is Bruce." Tony says.

Bruce gets up from his chair and shakes my hand. Tony then shows me to a table where I hop on and sit with my legs crossed.

"So to be able to do these tests we need you to take your shirt off so we can put on heart monitor and other cables." Tony says.

I sigh and take my shirt off which leaves me with only pants and a bra on.

"Try any funny business and this whole place will end up in flames." I warn him before he connects me to a heart monitor.

"Aren't you going to ask what kind of test we are doing? I mean we could kill you." Bruce says.

"There isn't a risk of killing me, trust me I have tried, didn't work." I simply answer.

They look at me and then at each other before shrugging. They run some tests and takes a few blood samples. Bruce looks at my DNA strand and then furrows his brows.

"There is signs of some sort of mutation in your skin, do you know what it is?" Bruce asks me.

"I do know what it is. It helps me change my skin to hide scars, bruises or birthmarks. Would you like me to show you?" I ask them.

They nod their head.I hesitate before I take a deep breath and close my eyes, I can feel my skin change. I open my eyes to see Tony and Bruce staring at me with big eyes. Over my heart there is scars, there is scars all over my back which is climbing on to my shoulders and scars on my arms. I sit there looking at the floor, I can't bare to face them. We sit quite for about five minutes before Tony finally speaks up.

"Where does these come from?"

"Mostly myself but some I got from different wars throughout the years as a dragon." I explain quietly.

They're still quiet when the door opens and the rest of the Avengers walks in. They stop in their tracks when they see me, Tony and Banner. They all look at my scars for a second before I turn my skin back so you can't see them. I unhook myself from all the things attached to me, grab my shirt putting it on as I run out. I run through all the corridors and down a stair with tears in my eyes. I bump into someone which causes me to lose my balance for a second. The tears in my eyes makes my sight blurry so I wipe my eyes with my arm.

"I'm so sorry I didn't see where.." I start saying when I look up and see Peter standing there.

"Cassie? What are you.." he starts off but I am already running again after seeing him.

I can't bear meeting him now. I hear footsteps behind me, I turn my head and see that Peter is running after me. I think fast and then decide on what to do. I run outside to the field where I run away from the building and then turn into a dragon and fly away. I look back and I can see Peter standing on the field looking after me, the others come out and then stop, seeing me fly far away. I know just where to go. I fly to a place in the middle of the forest where I land and shift back to human form. I look up into the sky with eyes filled with tears.

"Heimdal, I know you can see me. I know you can see my scars as well and how broken I truly am. I ask you to bring me to Asgard so I can go to the The Ethereal Tips and be alone for awhile." I say softly into the sky.

A moment later I am surrounded with light in all the colors of the rainbow, it doesn't take long before I'm standing in front of Heimdal.

"You may be broken but that does not mean you can never be fixed." he says to me.

I hesitate before I nod and then run out from the golden dome on to the rainbow bridge, I jump of the bridge and shift mid-air and fly away. When I fly over the heart of Asgard where the palace is located I think of Loki who is somewhere down there. I shake my head and continue to fly further and further away from Asgards palace towards the mountain. When I arrive I go inside our cave and sit there with my knees pressed against my chest, my forehead is resting on them and tears are running down my face. I didn't want all of them to see how broken I had been and still am, I wasn't really sure if I wanted to show Tony and Banner. And when I told Loki about all the things I had been through and bumping into Peter in the hallway. It was all too much for me, I had never showed so much of myself before.

I sit there all alone just crying like I've never done before. After a full hour of just crying I fall asleep, I have bad dreams from my past and I wake up sweating. 

Another day another chapter! I'm sorry for not posting in sooo long but I had a lot of work and school has started again. But I'm soo thankful for all of you who are reading my story and enjoying it! It means the world to me that there is people out there that enjoys my writing! I am truly happy and thankful! Love you <3 <3
