Chapter 14

I woke up with a headache from when I had been crying earlier in the night. I got up took a shower and got dressed before going out to the kitchen to get something to eat. I met Steve in the kitchen he was making coffee and I guessed that he had been on a morning run because he was in training clothes.

"Good morning Cassie."

"Good morning Steve." I replied while making a cup of tea.

I could see in the corner of my eye of Steve looked at me a little worried sometimes when he thought I wasn't looking. Maybe Bucky had told him about last night or he was just worried about me. I ignored it and made sandwiches that I brought with me to the table. I took out my phone and texted Peter asking if he wanted to finish the tour around New York. He answered that he'd loved too and to met him outside his apartment complex. I finished my breakfast grabbed my jacket and headed towards the door.

"Where do you think you're going?" Steve asked while leaning on the door frame.

"To meet Peter."

"You hang out with Peter a lot these days don't you?"

"Well he's one of my very few friends, so yeah I guess I do."

"You have friends and family here to you know."

"I know but we can hang out and do something tomorrow! Like go to the park or watch movies." I suggested.

"Alright, sounds good. I'll tell the others then." he said with smile turning away and heading back.

I made my way out and all the way to his apartment complex where I texted him saying I was waiting outside. When I put my phone away I heard a yell coming from down the street, I turned around and saw a bus driving like crazy. It looked like the brakes were broken because it only kept speeding up and wasn't able to slow down or stop. If it didn't stop then it would crash into a school bus filled with children standing at a red light. Without thinking I shifted and stopped it before it could hit the school bus, it was only after that I realized that I was in dragon form. People in the bus got off and stared at me, people from the streets were backing away from me. I could see that they were scared, and that they thought I was a monster I needed to get out of there so I flew back home. I had seen Peter on the ground staring at me and I'm pretty sure he saw me fly away. When I got back I shifted and went inside to be greeted by Steve that was walking by.

"Home already?" he asked but I just stormed past him.

He looked after me as I stormed into my room and threw the door shut, I jumped on my bed and cried into the pillow. Why couldn't I be normal? Live a normal life like everyone else? I was getting angrier at myself. I was a monster, how could I be stupid enough to believe that I wouldn't be treated like one? People were scared of me. I felt a burning anger in my chest and before I knew it my claws were growing and scales started to grow on my hands.

I heard a knock on the door.

"Cassie? Are you okay?" Steve asked.

"Go away!"

"Can I come in?" he asked.

"Please go away!" I answered.

I heard him open the door, I looked up at him.

"What's wrong?" he asked coming closer.

I moved away from him so I couldn't hurt him. But for some reason he kept coming closer and I kept trying to get further away from him until I felt my back against the window. My burning anger was getting stronger and if it got too strong then I wouldn't be able to control myself, again.

"Tell me what happened."

"Please Steve, you don't understand you need to get away from me!"

"Cassie.."

"Please! I don't want to hurt you!"

He tried to grab my arm but I smacked it away and when I looked at his arm I could see bleeding wounds. Steve backed away and his eyes had a familiar look, he was scared of me. Now I got scared and more angry at myself for hurting Steve, he just wanted to take care of me. And now I had hurt him. I broke the window allowing me to fall out and shift in mid air, I flew away from the building, far far away. 

Another day another chapter! SOO Sorry for not updating! I think you've heard the excuse; "School is much right now and I have homework to do" A LOT by now but it is true and it's the reason why I haven't been updating at all. But I'm sorry. Anyway, I got my reading glasses now that I needed for when I'm writing stories and reading! So now I can actually see what I'm doing! :)) But for now I hope you enjoy the new chapter!! Love you! <3<3
