Chapter 10

They closed the door and Tony enabled safe room on the lab so the flames wouldn't make their way out and burn the rest of the building. Peter just stood there with tears in his eyes, Tony puts his arm around him and leads him into the common room to sit down on the couch. Steve and Bucky is in the room talking when they enter and see Peter crying when Tony sits him down, he then walks over to them.

"What happened to Peter?" Steve asks.

"There's something wrong with Cassie, she has become unstable."

"What?!" It was Bucky that exclaimed.

"Yeah, they had been out walking on the streets and then she was on the verge of passing out suddenly and when Friday scanned her in my lab it turned out that she had a fever over 97 degrees celsius."

"Shouldn't that be impossible?" Steve asked.

"Yes but her skin was burning at the touch."

"Will she survive?" Bucky asked in a low voice.

Tony sighed and fiddled a bit with his fingers before answering.

"I don't know, she said it had happened before but it could be worse now."

They nodded and Bucky's face hardened and had a tint of sadness in his eyes. That night on the roof they made a connection, a special bond between them. Both had been through war and done horrible things in their life and been alone at some point. He thought of her like a little sister. Steve also liked her alot and felt a responsibility over her ever since that day when she first landed outside the building.

"What do you mean about her becoming unstable?" Steve asked.

"I don't really know but her eyes turned green and when we walked out from the room she was surrounded in flames. That's all I know."

"She can't control her ability of shifting into a dragon and her scars will be showing. That's what she told me before..before we left her in there." Peter said in a low voice.

There was silence before Peter turned around slowly walking away muttering something about going home to aunt May and school. The others went separate ways and outside of the building the night was settling in as the sky became darker and the moon began its journey across the sky. Tony informed everybody to keep away from the lab Cassie was in and then went to work on his suit. Steve was down in the gym hitting a punching bag. And Bucky was up on the roof on the same spot as he and Cassie had been at a day ago, looking at the stars. 

Another day another chapter! This chapter is also kinda short but think they'll get longer but I haven't decided yet, leave a comment if you want them a little longer! Anyways school is soooo stressful right now and I keep panicking over some tests and other things. But I'll hopefully upload on Friday! See ya! <3
