Sleep did not come easy that night. In fact it didn't come at all. I couldn't talk. I refused to eat. Tobirama grew worried and sent for hashirama.
Hashirama came into the room with a serious face. Bags under his eye. I guess he didn't sleep either. Taking a seat beside me he looked over sadly. "Are you ok?"
God I was so tired of hearing that. Why would anyone in my position be ok? I decided not to answer. It was clear that I'm not.
"Right" he mumbled.
"If you want me to go I understand" I said. Tobirama scratches his head in frustration. "Your not thinking clear" he stated

"I think what Tobirama is trying to say is that. We would like you to stay and continue the treaty for the uchihas who did stay. If not they can still remain here safely. But your brother did wage war against us. If you join him..."
"I'll stay for the remainder of my people. But I won't join this war. I refuse to go in war against my brother. I-..." tears formed as it was harder for words to form.
"Don't want to see another brother fall" hashirama finished my sentence
Tears trickled down his cheek as well " he's threatened the village. I can't let him live."
"I understand" I sobbed and I did. I did understand as hard as that was. And I know it has to be hard for hashirama to now face the fact that he had to be the one to kill his best friend.
"I didn't want it to be this way ." He cried. " I ask that if I succeed. Understand that you have a brother . You have me. I promised him I'd take u in as my own. And I intend on keeping that promise. "
I didn't say anything . I couldn't. I just cried. And he silently cried with me. As weird as it was it was comforting.
