AGREEMENTS

"Do you want to tell me what happened?" Vanessa softly asks as they break the hug, Tony placing his hand on his chin as he shudders.

"I see what you meant." He says, the girl raising a brow at the statement. "Your warning." He explains. "I saw it in my dream."

"Oh." She says frowning.

"You were right." He says looking down.

"But a dream?" She asks, clearly confused. "A dream convinced you?"

It is an unexpected way to change someone's mind, especially since the team had been trying to reason with him for some time.

"It was very real." Tony says, his voice distant. Then as he lets out a sigh, he runs his hands through his hair.

"What am I supposed to tell the team?" He asks in a low voice.

"You don't have to tell them about the dream Tony." Vanessa says, offering a small smile. "You just need to ask them how they feel about the registration act and really listen." She says, reaching for his hand and giving it a small squeeze.

"But I was so convinced..." he says, his voice trailing off.

"It's okay Tony. Sometimes, we are allowed to change our minds once we see the bigger picture. There's nothing wrong with that Tony. And I'm sure the team will appreciate it."

"I guess trying won't hurt." Tony says, giving her a small smile. "Thank you kiddo." He adds, giving her a fist bump. "Sorry I woke you."

"It's okay." Vanessa says shaking her head with a light chuckle.

"Oh, and Tony?" She calls out as he is about to leave the room. "I'm sorry about earlier too. It wasn't because of the registration act that I didn't tell you about my abilities, I just wanted some time to figure things out."

"It's alright kid. I know it's not easy. Get some rest okay?"

"Night Tony."

Early in the morning, Tony takes a deep breath as he makes his way towards the labs, his science bro Bruce already working on something.

Without saying anything, Tony walks up to Bruce and gives him a hug.

Surprised, Bruce slowly turns around and returns the hug, gently patting Tony's back.

"Hey Tony." He greets. "Are you okay?" He asks, Tony nodding as he breaks away.

"Bad dream." Tony says, recalling the image of his friend restrained.

"Oh." Bruce says pushing his glasses up.

"Hey Bruce?" Tony says pausing. "How do you feel about the registration act?"

Before answering, the doctor lets out a sigh and sits down, looking down as he speaks. "I personally don't like it Tony." He says. When Tony glances at him, the Doctor proceeds to explain.

"Tony, I've been on the run for years trying to hide from the government that was trying to kill me. When they didn't succeed, they decided to make the Hulk a weapon." He says. "I've seen first hand what they are capable of. Their thirst for power and control is not something to mess with. General Ross is especially ruthless. That's why I don't agree."

"I see." Tony says, deep in thought as he nods.

"Why do you ask?" Bruce asks, noticing Tony's unusual behavior.
