Y/N's pov

I was sitting in class and I felt eyes on me. I looked behind me and saw the guy who always stares at me. He seems like a sweet guy but I have never talked to him, which is why I don't know his name. We made eye contact and he looked back to his work, making me silently chuckle. I'm deemed as a "popular kid" although I believe I'm the same as everyone. I've been wanting to talk to the guy but every time I try to talk to him, he's busy. Then the teacher said "Peter Parker, could you come over here?" I looked around to see who "Peter Parker" was since I've never heard of the name, but then I saw the cute guy going towards the teacher. Peter Parker. That's a cute name.

Then the lunch bell rang I went out of the class with the other kids. I went to sit at a table with my friend Michelle. People think it's weird I hang with MJ but that's because I don't want to hang out with the toxic kids who bully everyone and I'd rather be friends with a girl who is deemed "weird", but I like to say the word, unique cause boy, she is one heck of a doozy. Sure, I get strange looks, but does it really matter?

"How was class?" She asked. "It was nice, I finally got the name of the cute guy who has been staring at me." I smirked. Her face lit up. "Who is it? I might know a thing or two about them." "You know a thing or two about everyone, but it's Peter Parker." "HE'S THE ONE?!" She screamed out so loud, everyone in the cafeteria heard. I looked around and saw the guys smirking as if they had a chance but Peter, who was two tables behind us, was frowning. Oh god, he has to stop being cute, he's the one.

"Michelle! Now everyone's speculating and Peter was frowning." "Oh, I'm so sorry I broke your boyfriend's heart. Hopefully, you'll still invite me to the wedding." "Shut up. Anyways, I'm going to the library." I said as I stood up and left. "Bye, have fun reading books!" She laughed and waved. "Don't act like you don't!" I said turning around, then leaving for good.

I went to the library and saw Peter sitting there. He was sitting alone unlike at lunch, where he was sitting with a friend. I had homework to do and although every other table was either empty or only had one person on it, I decided to sit in front of him. I put my bag hanging off the chair and sat down, turning to open it and take my books. I turned around again and saw Peter looking up from his book to me and widening his eyes with his mouth slightly ajar. "You don't mind me sitting here, do you?" I asked him. "N-no, no, of course not, go ahead!" He stuttered, causing me to smile.

As I was writing, Peter asked me something. "H-hey Y/N? W-why are you sitting here when all the tables are empty?" I looked around and saw that there indeed was no one left on all the tables. "Well, I don't wanna be lonely. Plus, you seem like a cool guy, Peter. I don't know why you only have like, one friend." I told him. "How would you even know if that's true?" He said looking back down to his book. I held his hand, which took him by surprise.

"You can't judge a person and expect your assumption to be right. I see when you get happy over little things and when you and your friend start laughing. I hang out with Michelle and I get many looks but do I care? No, because she's a much better friend than they probably are. Everyone judges her as 'abnormal' but she's just a unique human being. I've always hated it when people judge, it's a waste of time to take other people's' judgements seriously. I also know that you're on the decathlon and that's cool! I hear you're like, the smartest guy ever. I don't see how that's not cool. Personally, I don't want to be friends with someone depending on how rich they are or how popular they are, I want to be friends with people who are interesting, kind, and just an overall genuine person. So please, don't judge yourself, I'd love to be your friend." I said going on a small rant.

"That's the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me, thanks." He smiled. "It's no problem Peter, I'm just stating facts." I winked, causing him to blush. He looked down at his hand and saw that I was still holding it but I just held it a little tighter and continued doing my work. He held my hand just as tight and continued doing his work.
