Chapter 18

The rest of the day was filled with multiple stares and questions, but I got through it.

Everyone on campus was so excited for tonight's game. There were hundreds of posters plastered on all the walls throughout the campus and pretty much everyone was dressed in school colors. Everyone's spirit got me really excited for the game tonight.

"Hey mom, I'm home," I yell as I walk through the front door. I walk into the kitchen where my mom is washing some dishes.

"Hey sweetie, how was your day?"

"It was good. How was yours?" I sit down on the stools by the island and grab a handful of grapes that were sitting in a bowl on the counter.

"Long. So do you have plans tonight?" She looks tired and worn out. I get up and give her a big hug, and then sit back down.

"Yah, remember? I have the game and I am going out to dinner afterwards."

"Oh yeah I forgot. Who is going again?" I haven't told her that I was going out with just Ethan after the game, but I am sure she will be fine with it.

"Well, everyone is going to the game, and I wanted to ask you if I could just go out with Ethan after?"

"What, like a date?" She says raising her eyebrows with a slight smile on her face.

"I mean I guess," I laugh shrugging my shoulders.

"Yes, you can go but I want to meet this boy sometime. You talk about him an awful lot. Oh, and your curfew is 12:00. Text me if you'll be late please," She says while I say ok and run up the stairs to my room.

I was laying on my bed when I got a text.

Katie: Here!

I completely forgot that yesterday katie told me that she was going to come over and help me get ready. So I run downstairs to let her in.

"Hey girl," she says pulling me into a hug.

"Heyyy."

"So I brought everything over that we need. How long do we have?" Katie says while we walk up the stairs to my room.

"About 2 hours till the game starts."

"Alright, we can work with that."

"Wow," I say in awe. It's been around an hour and a half and I look like a different person.

Katie started by curling my hair, then taking the top section and braiding it, when she was finished with that she started on my makeup.

I don't understand how she is so good at this. She took her Naked Heat Palette and applied the eyeshadow beautifully and blended it perfectly. The orange eyeshadow really brought out my blue eyes. She added dots of face paint above my eyebrows in our school colors and it looked amazing.

She then picked out my outfit which was ethan's jersey, blacked ripped jeans, my black and white checkered vans, and then some beads.

"Holy crap, Katie. You are so good at this! Thank you, thank you!" I give her a big hug. I am beyond excited for tonight. I feel so confident and can't wait to see Ethan.

"Of course, girl. You are going to rock it tonight," she says with a laugh, "Ok, I think we should head over to the school."

" Yeah, sounds good," I say grabbing my purse.

As we walk through the door, I yell bye to my mom.

"Have fun. Be home by 12," she yells from her office.
