i hadn't talked to you in person for about 2 and a half years;
today was the first time since then
and surprisingly you didn't feel like a stranger to me
laughing with you felt nice
it reminded me of the first time we ever spoke
but this time it felt more genuine
you're nicer now
and you no longer scare me
"i think we were always better as friends" i say softly
you agreed, hesitant at first
but eventually you smiled,
i smiled back
