Jason POV Bruce called us down to the batcave to give us our areas and partners to go out on patrol, Bruce was with his son, damian the new robin, Dick was with Tim, and I was with Barbara. I saw a hint of jealously flash across Dick's eyes which I just smirked at. As that was finished we all started gearing up in our costumes. (The costumes are based of the New 52 designs just like the pic below)

I proceeded to get on my bike not before glancing back towards Barbara to see if she's coming with me or not. Fortunately, she just rolled her eyes and got on the back of the bike, I then reved the engine and drove out of the batcave. 2 hours later "I haven't seen a single crime all night!" I shouted getting very impatient and angry "calm down will you, I think I might see something" she said looking towards the docks, this peeked my interest so I walked over to her to have a look and saw a large shipment of heavy weapons being dropped off, most likely for the penguin and his gun trade he runs in Gotham. "They're dropping off weapons to penguin, let's say we give them a surprise visit" she said with an eyebrow raised "you read my mind Babs" I teased knowing she hated it when I teased her with that name. We jumped off the building we were standing on and landed behind them, they turned around shocked "hey" I said in my sarcastic tone and we engaged in an all out fight. Bullets were being fired at me and Barbara but managed to miss us both so I ran up to him, dragged his gun up to his face to hit him with it, I then got shot in my shoulder by some guy behind me, I grabbed the man's gun with his hands still on it aimed it at the guy and shot him, then turned the gun on him and shot him too. Suddenly a guy came up behind me with a knife, constantly stabbing me until I manged to throw him away, grappled the box behind me and flung it at his face, knocking him out? killing him? I don't care, either one did the trick. I turned my attention to Barbara as she threw the guy on the floor and curb stomped him in the face, knocking him out straight away. Her face then turned to me as she saw the wounds I received in my fight "oh my god jay, we should get you patched up like now" she said as her voice fills with worry "I'm fine barbara, it's just a flesh..." I tried saying before leaning on the wall for support "I have a med kit in my apartment come on" she demanded and not wanting to see barbara angry again I decided to just go with her demand. At Barbara's Apartment I sat on her bed as she checked the house for anyone and when she was certain it was clear, she went to the bathroom to get her med kit. "Take off your jacket and shirt" she demanded softly "I bet you've wanted to say that for awhile now ay Barbara?" I smirked "it's no time for jokes I mean for god sakes you could've d-..." "I didn't" I said cutting her off knowing exactly what she was gonna say.
10 minutes later She just finished stitching up my bullet wound and the stab wound that maniac caused. As she finishing up I feel her smooth fingers run over the scars I got from joker when he beat and killed me "babs?" I said startling her "oh I'm sorry it's just..." "Its ok i know what your feeling, I know how it feels to be tortured by that psychopath" I said softly, sympathizing with her. "I know it's just, I still have night terrors of that night he paralyzed me, put my father through hell, I still see his gut wrenching grin every night afraid that he will come after me again until I'm dead" she was crying at this point, so I opened my arms and gave her a comforting hug that we both needed. "How do you do it?" She asked quietly "do what?" I answered confused "act like nothing ever happened to you when you got way worse than what i ever did?" She asked again making it more clear "well the fact is I never got over it, it still haunts me day after day and it won't ever leave me alone" I exclaimed shedding a single tear, we just sat there holding each other, carrying the other person's pain in our hearts and in that moment it was only us in the world and no one could tear that apart.
