Do you remember that one night when you had a terrifying nightmare that made you afraid of falling asleep again? The images flashed through your mind way too quickly, leaving very little time for you to respond. You woke up drenched in sweat, probably a drop of tear in the corner of your eye. You used the back of your hand to wipe the tear along with your sleep for the rest of the night.

Why did Jun seem something like that?

I watched him take slow, soundless steps in my direction. It was as if someone pressed the mute button on the remote control. He reached out to my hand, but frowned when I moved it slightly away.

"Still pushing me away, I guess." I heard him mumble. "You must be tired. I'll see you tomorrow." Jun said and walked over the broken screen and the shards of glass lying around it. As soon as he opened the door, his eyes met Kai's worried ones. "Who is this?" He asked, turning back to look at me.

I noticed the dark mist dispersing around Kai as he looked at me for help. "Oppa, you're here?" I asked. "Jun, this is the oppa that lives next door. Xiumin must've asked him to check up on me." I beamed. I had to convince Jun that Kai lived nearby, since there was no way he could've reached my home this early otherwise.

"He told me that you were worried because the door was open when you came home. I decided to just check if something is wrong." Kai added.

There was a hint of resentment in Jun's eyes as he looked at Kai, but it was so faint I could barely figure it out. He was quick to mask it with an apologetic smile. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to trouble you guys like this."

"It wasn't a trouble, I live just next door." Kai returned a smile that didn't quite reach his eyes. "I'd just not enter someone's apartment without asking them beforehand. You can see how surprised she was to have called Xiumin like that." He added, the same smile plastered on his face.

Jun looked taken aback. "You're probably new to this apartment." He said politely. "Even the security guard here knows me really well. I was here to surprise her in the first place." He smiled and unexpectedly took my hand and squeezed it as a farewell. "I'll call you." He told me before walking out the door.

Kai followed him with his eyes and then turned back to me. His smile had turned into a disappointed frown. "Who did this?" He asked, referring to the destroyed Play Station that covered the floor.

"I did it by mistake." I said, not wanting to give off a bad impression about Jun. They already don't seem to like him, I wouldn't want to make them absolutely him by letting them know about his anger issues. "He isn't usually like this, he only reached Seoul today afternoon. He was just tired." I covered up for Jun (like the usual).

"Still, its not right to just leave like that. He should've at least helped you pick all this up." Kai wondered.

"I don't need someone to do that for me. I know how to clean up glass pieces without getting hurt, so its fine." I replied before sitting down to clear up the mess.

Kai insisted on helping me clean by saying that it will only make the process quicker. As soon as we finished, the door was pushed open and Xiumin rushed inside. He was breathing heavily as if he just ran a marathon.

"Are you fine?" I asked.

"Wa- ter." He said in between pants.

"Did you run all the way till here?" I asked wide eyed.

"The door-" He panted. "No, the elevator- It wasn't-"

"Sit down first." Kai suggested and I went to bring him some water.

After gulping down water and regulating his breaths, Xiumin finally managed to speak properly. "What happened here? Are you fine?" He asked.

"Yeah, it was just an old friend. He was here to surprise me and I got scared for no reason." I cleared up the confusion while Xiumin just exchanged worried glances with Kai.
