(Reader's POV)

It's an understatement to say that Zoe Murphy had smitten him. She was charming, sweet, dazzling, all of the things you'd expect from a straight girl. Nothing more. Nothing less. Zoe Murphy was an enchantress of sorts, not by choice, but she was intelligible enough to know that she could use this to her advantage; she had simply been born to fit in the world's perfect and gigantic social puzzle piece, some  thought she found stuck out like a sore thumb.

She stuck out enough for Evan at least. As you could already probably tell, I was smitten by Evan Hansen. That shy, small and anxious little boy, he had smitten me because he had a way with words that could have me bouncing on one leg and asking him "how high?"; He called me sweets names, names that would only show how much adoration he felt for me. I wasn't always his "babe", "darling", "love", "sweetheart"; I used to be buddy, pal, friend, until one day I started becoming the rebound. Through puffy, teary, red eyes and choked back sobs "Y/n, you w-wouldn't b-believe wh-what Zoe just d-did to me" "What happened Ev?" "She s-said she d-doesn't f-feel r-ready for a r-relationship but th-then she g-goes a-and dates a g-guy f-from j-jazz band" "Aw Ev, people will do that to you, the trick is just not dating anyone."

(3rd person POV)

The boy of 17 looked at his best friend, Y/n L/n, had they always been so attractive? Their eyes are shimmering as the ocean would while the stars and moon cascade down on it. They certainly were a sight to behold, to him they looked like a Greek or Roman God/Goddess. From the top of their head to the tip of their toes, Evan thought that Y/n L/n was more than enough, they had something that Zoe didn't have, Y/n was a gifted person but in the sense that they could seduce anyone or leave someone spellbound just by their charm alone. Unlike Zoe, they aren't as manipulative with their amazing looks as she was and or could be, Y/n was just Y/n.

'Is being in love a feeling that I want to feel again?' Evan pondered this for a short while, he knew that he had always felt something for Y/n, he knew because his heart was in a constant state of panging and thrumming against his delicate, fragile chest. 'I guess it's now or never!'. Again, Evan fell silent but this time he showed a deep intention to allow words to flow through and out of his lips.

(Evan's POV)
I've never felt more nervous, I felt as if I were a lovesick boy who hadn't quite figured out his feelings but knew he had them. "Um, Y/n?" "Yeah Ev?" "Most people, um well, m-most people know how to, uh, go about these things but, um, I'm n-not really s-sure how? Um, what I'm, um, what I'm trying to say is that I want y-you to be mine? Like my romantic partner"
"Obviously I definitely will be, you had me at most people know how to go about these things"

I smiled like the Cheshire Cat, I was so happy and ecstatic that Y/n said yes. Zoe Murphy is no longer as important as she was to me when I was bewitched by her amazing looks and enchanting voice.

(This would soon ensue a series of continuous moments of heartbreak on both ends. The young teens would depend on each other, they would cry with each other and they would date each other. The following is from the first time that the young man started the endless cycle)
