chapter 15

Matthew McKnight POV

After three days straight I was finally discharged out of the hospital but the worst part is I need to stay a whole month in my bed "son what are you thinking" my mom asked me worried I looked at her "of how long this month is going to be" I said looking at the driveway it was mine we're at my house "son your dad and I are going on a business trip because your dad is running the company for a month so I do Evelynn tasks so she can take care of herself" my mom said it in a soft but sad voice "is something wrong with her" I asked panicking I hope she is my mom nodded her head

Dad was standing on the driveway he assist me up the stairs I let myself drop backwards on the bed "James will be here in a hour so stay in bed" my dad said strict leaving me alone after a long hour someone knocked on my door "come in" I said bored I want to talk to someone or at least I want someone to pick up the remote from my drawer I saw the door open and Evelynn walked in she looks wrecked bags under her eyes she looks pale and has red puffy eyes "hey" she said soft walking up to me sitting on the floor "hey" I said looking at her she must still blame herself I grab her hand "look I am fine" I said holding her hand really tight

James walked in with a tray of soup bowls Evelynn stood up grabbing to chairs from my desk and put them in front of me James put the tray on my lap so I can't spill it on myself Evelynn takes a bowl sips careful the soup "dude you two are looking like zombies" James said lighting the mood but Evelynn looked at me with sadness in her eyes she looked back at her bowl of soup I sipped it I saw her putting the bowl on the nightstand "Eve where are you going" James said worried she walked out of the room

*3 weeks later*

I woke up with pain in my stomach I looked at my nightstand to see Evelynn left the painkiller and a glass of water my alarm said it was only 6 am Evelynn will be here at 7 am she is taking care of me I toke the painkillers I searched the remote it was under my pillow where I left it last night I searched through the channels for an half hour I better watch some Netflix I turn on Netflix I search for a Serie I come a cross the series White Collar I decide to watch it all my previous series are done

After 1 episode I heard the front door close that must be Evelynn I heard a knock on my door "come in" I said focused on the tv I saw in the corner of my eye that the door opened I paused the tv she was holding a tray with food "you must be hungry" she said soft putting the tray next to me on the bed she stood up I looked at her she walked out of my room leaving me alone were back to the beginning of the time she started to work for me I want to know what is going on with her

Every hour she checks on me I want this week to be over so I can go back to work it is getting on my nerves from sitting here I dialed Eric's number "hey bro" he said I paused the tv again "Eric can you call the rest we meet up in my house I can use some fun" I said looking at the door that just closed Evelynn is in the room "yeah we will be there at eight" he said cheerfully at me "good see you all tonight" I said I looked at her angry face as I hang up the phone she shook her head with her arms crossed over her chest tapping her foot on the floor

"can't I have at least a little fun" I said annoyed looking out of the window the sky was grey and it was raining softly "no of course not" she snapped at me I looked at her puzzled "don't look at me that way you know exactly why not if something goes wrong your stitch can rip open" she said angry her face turn from anger to sadness is she worried or just acting "yeah I'm bored to death" I spat at her angry she looked at me turned around and was out of my room it was completely silence until I heard the front door close she is gone I sigh
