Screaming

"Hi, Kat. Hi, Devyn"

"Hey," they both said in unison. They got off me and helped me up. Kat took my hand and dragged me to the stairs. 

"Sam, if you walk in I will kick you in the balls," Kat said before she dragged me upstairs. They sat me down on the bed.

"So what's going on with Colby?" Devyn asked.

"We're just friends"

"Kat, does this look like just friends to you?" I saw the photo of when Colby and I were on the couch.

"No, no it does not"

"They were just in the moment, ok?"

"And the cuddling?"

"We are unconscious and forced to sleep in the same bed"

"Why don't you make him move immediately?"

"Because I don't want to disturb him" they both rolled their eyes. 

"In celebration of you all being back, we are having a movie night" I rolled my eyes and we went downstairs. Colby was sitting on a beanbag. I tried to sit on the couch but Kat and Devyn pulled the same trick on me. I huffed and sat by Colby. As the film went on, I started to fall asleep. Eventually, I let my eyes close. I woke up with sleep paralysis. I could hear and feel but not see or move. I was lying with my head on someone, probably Colby. 

"Colby, look at her"

"Yeah, if you look at her without smiling we'll believe that you don't like her," Corey said.

"I don't, ok?"

"Colby, we're asking you to prove it" I started to stir which was out of my control. With my eyes closed, I saw something horrifying watching me. I started to get scared. I saw my hands were shaking.

"Oh my god, is she ok?" Devyn asked. The thing came towards me and I screamed. That's when I finally opened my eyes. "Chloe!" she shouted and hugged me. I realised I was crying. I hid my face in my hands, breathing heavily. "Chloe, it's ok" Devyn was trying to comfort me. I felt someone else hug me, I knew it was Colby. My breathing slowed and the tears stopped.

"Awe, Colby just calmed her down," Kat said quietly. I turned and hugged Colby properly.

"It's ok," he whispered. I pulled away and grabbed some water sitting on the counter. Kat and Devyn walked in.

"What happened?" they asked.

"I had sleep paralysis during a nightmare" I explained."I used to have them as a kid but I didn't know I could still have them. They are terrifying because you can feel everything"

"Do you want to sleep in with me tonight?" Devyn asked. 

"No, I'll be fine now" I weakly smiled and they went back to the others, explaining what happened.

"You ok?" an all too familiar voice asked. I nodded my head. "You sure. Those were proper screams"

"I'll be fine, Colby" he nodded and went back to the others. They all went upstairs to bed while I made a bed on the couch. 

I lay down and it happened again. Colby came running down instantly and hugged me. He sat back. "I'm not leaving you this time"

"Colby..."

"No protests" I sighed and he lay down. I cuddled into him and fell asleep. The next morning when I woke up, I saw Devyn in the kitchen. This time I was hugging Colby while he lay facing me. I smiled slightly and sat up. Devyn rushed over.
