The flight back home was excruciatingly painful, knowing I was leaving my mother. We were now searching for where I had parked my car, eventually I saw it in the distance.

"There!" I exclaimed, rushing over to it. I was excited to see our friends again but not excited for the teasing that was kind of just a package deal.

"Calm down, I thought you didn't want to leave your mother?" he accused as we had finally reached the car.

"I don't but, our friends!" he chuckled but I ignored him, climbing into the drivers seat. My engine started instantly, just as Colby jumped in the passenger seat.

We pulled up to the house to see there were no cars in the driveway or along the street.

"There must have been an apocalypse" I joked, Colby laughed and opened the car door, beginning to walk to the house.

"Maybe" he turned serious. We both broke into a fit of laughter at the same time. I pulled my key out my pocket, unlocking the door and opening it suspiciously. "What are you looking for? Murderers?" he asked with an amused yet confused expression.

"The roommates, they have a tendancy to jump scare" he blew air out of his mouth

"And that's a very accurate statement" we walked in. I still looked skeptically around the room, eventually giving up when Colby walked over, hugging me from behind. I enjoyed the gesture so I leaned my head back on his shoulder - closing my eyes - his face now in the crook of my neck. He gave me a small kiss there before spinning me around to face him. As though he'd practiced since the last time, he expertly kissed my lips. My arms made their way around his neck, pulling his head closer to me. He started to walk forwards, making me go backwards. Eventually, my back was pressed against the kitchen island - it was a little uncomfortable so I pulled my hands away, gripping the counter and hopping up, without breaking our kiss. I wrapped my legs around Colby for more support so I didn't fall sideways or backwards; I wouldn't put it past me.

Either we were lost in the moment or we were generally deaf, which ever one it was, it meant we didn't hear the front door open and close. Someone cleared their throat, making me jump and completely pull away instantly - including my legs. Colby whirled around at the same time. Elton, Amanda, Sam, Kat and Devyn had huge smiles on their faces as they looked at us. The blush built up on my cheeks meaning I covered my face.

"So, you guys leave in a hurry for days and we leave for just one hour to get food then return to you making out in the kitchen?" Elton clarified the details. My hands were still over my face but I knew they could see my embarrassed smile.

"Sorry" was all I could say.

"Why are you being so awkward? We've walked in on you making out before, remember?" Sam assured me and reminded me of the trip to New Zealand.

"How long have you been there?" Colby asked, I dreaded to hear the answer.

"Not long but we saw the tail-end of Chloe jumping on the island" Kat directed her attention to me. "Uncomfortable to be pushed against that isn't it?" she related. My hands instantly moved and my eyes darted from Kat to Sam then back again.

"Kat!" Sam exclaimed.

"What?" I giggled at her innocent voice.

"Hey, Amanda" I changed the subject slightly.

"Hi, Chloe"

"Been a while"

"Yes, it has" she replied professionally however was looking between me and Colby with a smirk she was trying to hide.

The front door opened and closed again, Aaron and Corey walked in with cameras in their hands - they were staring at them: presumably checking the footage they had.

"Guess what, honey?" Devyn said, walking over to Corey. In a feeble attempt to escape embarrassment, I jumped off the counter and ran upstairs - collapsing on Colby's bed. I heard two roars of laughter then footsteps headed toward the door. I got up to lock it before the others got here but was interrupted by Colby walking in and locking it himself.

"How did they react?" I was anxious.

"Laughing and pointing. Good call, running away" he nodded in approval.

"I'm getting better at thinking on the spot" I agreed.

"I don't know why it's so much more awkward" he said with a furrowed brow.

"Maybe because they don't catch us so often" I suggested with a shrug. He thought for a moment, then took a seat beside me. "Or because it means so much more now"

"It could be either" he agreed with me, still staring off into space. A few moments of silence passed until I decided to interrupt it.

"So, what's the rest of the plan today?" I asked questioningly.

"Hmm, we could socialise with the others" his face now turned to me, a blank expression covering it. He seemed to still be in thought.

"But I don't think I can face them all right now"

"It's now or never" Colby said with a huge grin.

"Nice plug eventhough there's no camera" I congratulated with a high five.

"Thanks, I saw the opportunity so I wasn't gonna waste it" I thought a moment about what to do but my train of thought was lost when someone knocked in the door. "Who is it?" Colby asked.

"Corey, your phone was ringing, it's the hospital" I jumped up and opened the door, taking the phone. 'Thanks' I mouthed.

"Hello?" I walked downstairs and into the kitchen so I would have a motive to control myself in case what I was about to be told was bad. Everyone surrounded me but I knew they couldn't hear.

"Hello Miss Rose, I'd like to speak about you in particular"

"Um, OK. I thought we'd already figured that out?" a couple of worried expressions appeared at the sound of my voice.

"We have, but we thought you might want to know that... well" he took a deep breath. "Based on a more recent study, it is believed that if you were to have children, not only would the female actually have the disease but the male would carry it as an STD. Although if wouldn't affect him, anyone he was to sleep with would then carry it. We'd just like to say that no matter what, you will not be able to have grandchildren unless the mother of the child is to slowly, um, pass away when the child is twenty"

"Right so, there's no chance it could skip another?" Colby looked confused by the conversation as well as Sam and Kat. The others were just staring at me, carefully.

"No. It is 100%" I took a deep breath.

"You're 100% certain it's 100% certain?"

"Personally, for your mental health, there may be a 0.199999999% chance it will skip one more generation."

"That's not good" at least I didn't have to dumbify the conversation to the others. They would probably guess its about my mother. "Is there anything you can do?"

"There's one thing that may work but you would have to come all the way to Florida again and you have to be pregnant for this treatment to work"

"Oh, right"

"And even then it is uncertain" my heart was pounding in my chest. I understand that I wasn't even thinking of having a child but it was heart breaking to hear for certain that the child would be infected with some sort of illness. I couldn't put that on any human especially my own son or daughter. My thoughts were interrupted by the doctor.

"Are you OK?"

"Yes" I lied. "I should probably go, if that's all?"

"Yes"

"Ok, let me know of anything else"

"I will"

"Bye"

"Bye"
