Could You Fetch Something?

My mind raced and raced. That could NOT be true. That's not what they were thinking, was it? It couldn't be. How could they figure it out and I don't? I should be the first to notice, right? Why do I feel like someone's thrown a heavy sack at me and made me carry it?

My breathing went fast, the breath not even stopping in my lungs. I felt like I was gonna pass out.

I have to be wrong. There's no way I'm right. If I am right, how long? How am I going to deal with it? Do I tell Colby? Oh my god, Colby! How is he gonna react? And the others. What am I gonna...

Once again my thoughts were interrupted by the door. This time, Corey came in.

"Hey, wanna come back downstairs? We're gonna eat dinner" he asked, with a kind smile.

"Yeah, sure just give me a minute" that's when some realisation flashed across his face.

"Are you OK? You look terrified" I did my best to compose my expression and nodded, a half-hearted smile appearing.

"Yeah, sorry. Just off in candy land" he chuckled and visually relaxed.

"Oh, alright. Come down when you're ready" with that he was gone, the door mostly shut and footsteps walking down the hall.

Oh. My. God. What am I gonna do?

I knew I should be getting downstairs soon so I stood and began to make my way down the hall myself. I could hear snippets of a conversation about presumably YouTube.

"No I think we should do it now," Colby said.

"I'm not so sure, are you ready?" Sam asked.

"Yeah, of course, I am" I could hear the eye-roll in his voice.

"But what if the fans don't like it? That's career-changing"

"In some ways, maybe. But if they DO like it that career change in a good way" at this point I just walked faster in order to get downstairs quickly.

"What are you talking about?" I asked with fake curiosity. My thoughts were still crowding my speech, though, as I knew I sounded like I was in my own world.

"A video. We want to go to Suicide Bridge but Sam thinks the fans won't like it" I snapped back to reality.

"Screw the fans, I don't like the idea of it!" my gaze focused on Colby before switching to Sam who had an apologetic expression.

"You guys can talk about it later, right now, it's time for food" I listened to Sam and in my head, I knew things were going to kick off. I couldn't let him leave, though only for a while, it would worry me too much.

We sat around the house, eating and talking. Devyn and Kat sat cross-legged on the floor while Amanda sat on Elton's lap in the corner of the couch Colby and I sat on. Sam and Corey sat on one bean bag, Aaron on the other.

I sat eating my food slowly, deciding if it was making me feel nauseous or not. Luckily for me, it didn't and that meant the roommates weren't gonna get suspicious.

"Girls, can I speak to you?" I looked meaningfully at them and they understood immediately. We went to the living room and settled as far from the hallway as possible.
"Tell me your hunch, now" I whispered.

Kat looked at Devyn then switched to me. She sighed and said, "We think you could be pregnant" her voice was a whisper.

"I think that too, I've thought about it and I think I might be" Amanda's game face suddenly appeared once I'd spoke.

"I'll get you a test and we can find out if it's for sure," she said, determined.

"Um, OK. Quick favour, don't even mention this to the guys - especially not Colby" my eyes burnt into their soul so they all nodded and we returned to the game room - sitting beside our boyfriends.

My slightly worried expression must have still been on my face because Colby suddenly grabbed my hand, squeezing it and pulling me a little closer to him at the same time. I looked up at his face to see a reassuring smile. I gently squeezed back and although I did find more comfort, I couldn't help thinking he'd leave me as soon as he found out I could be or actually am pregnant.

"I'm going to get some groceries and run some errands. See you all another time" Amanda smiled at us all and sent me a secret look - one that said 'I'm going to get that thing you don't want anyone to know about.

"See ya, Amanda" I smiled to her as a response as she walked out of the house.

"Speaking of errands, Chloe, could you fetch something?" Elton asked, the nervousness in his voice like it always was when he asked me to do a part of my job.

"Yeah, sure. Whatcha need from where?" I stood up and turned fully to him, smiling as much as I could.

"Just some 'Send it' merch from the warehouse. They're ready in a box right by the door" I nodded and started to walk away. "If the men put them there" he added later.

My hand had touched the doorknob just as a hand spun me around. Colby stood with a small smile.

"Hey, mind getting me some food?" I chuckled quietly.

"We just ate" my smile wouldn't leave my face, no matter how hard I tried.

"But you'll be gone for a little while" I chuckled again and nodded.

"Watcha want?" I asked - sounding like a typical blonde or something.

"Hm..." he paused, "Tender Greens" I nodded and went to go out the front door when he gripped my hand and tugged it to face him. "Wait"

"Wh..." the word couldn't be finished as lips were touching mine. I thought about the whole pregnancy thing and how he'd react - if he did leave me then I need to savour these little moments.

My hand was released and instead, my waist was being held on both sides; my arms now wrapped around his neck.

"Elton's gonna need those shirts today! Also PDA!" Sam yelled. I rolled my eyes and smirked as I pulled away from him.

"I'm getting to that part of my priority list, geez. Patience" I yelled back. Colby smiled and pulled me in for one last quick kiss before I left the house, speed walking to my car and driving right on the limit to the warehouse.

As soon as my key left the door and it swung open, I saw the workers of the warehouse. There weren't many, just the stock checkers. I walked to the boxes piled up right next to the door, yet still far enough to have to walk to.

I lifted a box and walked it out to the car, making journeys back and forth to collect the four boxes. I was placing the fourth box in the trunk when someone touched my waist from behind me.

I flung around, tearing the hands off at the same time. A man with longish blonde hair and green eyes stood with a strange look on his face. He placed his hands on my waist again so I slapped them off.

"Come on, hun. Come with me, yeah?" he gestured towards a black convertible.

"I'm good, thanks" I snapped at him, hiding a frown and closing the trunk. The hands touched me again.

"No, come on. It'll be some fun"

"I have enough fun at home, thanks. Stop touching me" his hands were constantly moving, the second they came even close to my ass, I tore them away and walked to the driver's side of my car.

"Don't be like that" his voice remained in its seductive tone, trying to convince me. I glared for my answer and saw the angry look on his face.

"Just get in the damn car" he spat, cutting his eyes.

"No, how many times do I need to say no before you get it?" I asked, opening the door and was about to climb in until he grunted behind me.

Bad day to wear a skirt...
