"Yuna? Yuna! Wake up!" My mom yelled while opening the curtains. I groaned and pulled the pillow over my head. "Why? It's a Saturday!" I yelled through the pillow and Mother pulled my blanket right off of me. "Let's have a girls day out." She said making some jolt right off my bed. I raised one eyebrow,"Wait what? Since when did you act like a human being? Did you watch Mean Girls or White Chicks?" Mother chuckled and playfully threw a pillow at me. "No. I just wanted some time together. You and me. No brothers. No father. Just us." She ended her sentence with a smile. My mother walked over to the door and placed her hand on the doorknob,"Get ready. We're leaving in a bit." She left without another clue. Not even another clue of where we're going or why we're doing this. I thought she was gonna yell at me for what happened yesterday at the dinner table about walking about and all that. I sluggishly got out of bed and waddled out of bed to my closet. I'm excited but I'm so anxious too. What if I'm gonna go to a boot camp or something? Well if I'm going to a boot camp I'll still wear the cutest thing I have in my closet. Wait no I shouldn't try too hard. I should go with casual.

I let my hair down and wore my white converse. I grabbed my purse and let it hang down my shoulder. I opened the door out of my room and walked downstairs to where my mom was waiting near the exit. "Ready?" She asked as she grabbed her sunglasses. "Seriously? That's what you are wearing?" I looked at her outfit up and down. She was wearing the same shirt as me with some light blue shorts. My mom looks pretty young for her age. She looks like she could be my sister. No joke. She shrugged and showed off her white teeth smile. People might get the idea that we're twins. Maybe that's my mom's goal. I smiled forcefully and followed my mom out of the door. Our driver greeted us with a polite bow. My mom walked up to him and whispered something to him. He nodded in response and opened her door. I walked quickly behind her and looked at the driver,"Where are we going?" I asked curiously. He just chuckled in response. I sat beside my mother and stared outside the window. Where in the hell are we going? This makes me feel like I'm being kidnapped. I looked over to my mom to see her smiling while trying to keep her cool. I looked back to the window and the trees we were passing and buildings that were filled with office furniture. Minute by minute passed by. I listened to Sweetener by Ariana Grande on the radio while lip syncing softly to myself. Suddenly the car came to a stop and my mom put back on her sunglasses. I looked out the window to see the view. We were at the beach. An empty beach. The driver opened the door for me. I slowly got out and felt the breeze,"Why are we here?" I said as I heard the ocean waves. My mother grabbed my hand and dragged me to the water,"You love the beach. We used to go everyday when you were just a small baby." My mother said as she looked at the view. I smiled at the thought of my mother recalling the memories. I held her hand tightly,"I missed those moments." I said quietly admiring the waves. "I used to go here everyday with your father Yuna. We used to go on picnics and play with the waters." I clenched my fist hearing his name. My mom sighed,"Your father is not a bad man. He just was never there for us." I didn't agree to her statement but I rather not say. I remembered the previous night where he was sitting at our table. My mom went into her pocket and took out two locks and two keys. I looked at her confused as she looked proud. "These are promise locks. I get a lock and you get a lock. You get the key to my lock while I get the key to your lock. We will put these locks somewhere and I will bury your key while you bury my key. This is because each person will make a promise and if they other person sees them break the promise then they will unlock it. The goal is not have to get your lock unlocked." My Mom explained. She handed me a lock and I cupped it in my hand. She walked over to a line of vines hanging over a small rock mountain. She unlocked her lock and looked at it,"I promise to always be there for you. I will never leave your side. I'll try to be a better mother. I'll always love and help you." She hanged the lock over a vine and locked it making it have a click sound. My mom signaled to me that it's now my turn. I looked into her soft brown eyes,"I promise to always listen to you and stay with you for the rest of my life. I'll always love you forever and I'll always make sure your happy." I opened my lock and locked it right next to hers. We exchanged keys and buried it in a small hole you dug with our hands. The sun was setting and we were sitting on the sand watching the sunset,"Mom, do you miss Father?" She stopped breathing and took another deep breath,"I did miss him but I have a new lover who I cherish. I also have new thirteen sons and a daughter who could experience it all with me." My mother placed her hand on my shoulder and I lied on her shoulder enjoying this moment. I wish this moment will never go away. I wanna make the world go away and just have me and my mom. Just me and her.
