Chapter 4

I turned around only to see my worst nightmare.
My dad.
"GET AWAY FROM ME" I screamed and backed up into Matt.
"What you didn't miss me? I missed you for sure" he smirked and stepped closer.
"Get, the fuck away from me dad. Don't touch me" I said firmly. I was so scared.
"Sweetie, I told you id get my revenge on you again someday, and I think today's that day." He took another step towards me.
He pulled out a gun. Tears streamed down my cheeks.
"you can't do this" I said and backed up even more into the wall. I looked and saw Taylor and Matt standing on either side of me.
"Oh yes I can" he laughed and put his hand on the trigger.
"NO! Leave them alone" I sobbed.
He aimed the gun at me.
"This is what you get" he said and pulled the trigger.
*BANG*
I felt a pair of hands grab my waist and throw me to the ground.
I heard footsteps, and I looked up and saw my dad running out the door, leaving a trail of blood.
Taylor stood up.
"He shot the wall and it reflected and hit him in the stomach." He said.
"Oh.."I cried into my hands.
Matt enveloped me into a hug and sat us down on the bed.
"It's ok Brooke. Were safe now" he said.
"What happened with ur dad?" Taylor asked quietly and sat down on the bed next to us.
I pulled away from Matthew.
"When I was little, around 8 or 9, be used to abuse me and my mom. He would slap me, and kick me and lock me in my room at night. I would cry myslef to sleep, and I would go to school with black eyes and bruises on my face. I said they were sports injuries. One night, probably a year after he started being like that, I decided I had enough of this. I climbed out my bedroom window and ran to ten police station. They invaded my house and my dad was arrested." I said.
"Wow..." Was all they could say.
Taylor gave me a hug.
"I'm so sorry. No one should have to deal with that." He said into my shoulder.
I wiped my tears away.
"We still need to figure out were everyone else is." I said.
"I think I know where they might be..." Said Matt.
