Lisa's P.O.V.
As classes were over, it was finally time for Minnie's party and for the weekend. I sighed as I threw my backpack strap on my shoulder and prepared to leave the locker area in order to go home.
A lot has happened this week, I thought, and sighed heavily. I never knew the adventure of being the new girl in school is that interesting - and quite difficult actually. The second week of school is barely over and I already have a boy who broke my heart, a girl who hates me, and a dozen of new friends. Whoa! Mind blowing as heck. I never thought someone like me, Lalisa Manoban, could go through something like that. But hey, look - I did!
I shut my locker and prepared to leave for Minnie's party.
My phone buzzed in my hand, startling me. New text from Mina.
Mina and Wendy are obviously looking for me - it's time for us to go to the party, and I promised them I'll ride an uber with them so they don't feel lonely.
As I tried to leave the locker area, I heard a movement behind me.
"Why are you hurrying, baby?"
I turned around.
Oh, no. The fucker.
"Why do you care?" I rolled my eyes and turned around, deciding I wasn't going to give him attention and was just going to leave.
But again, no chance.
He caught my wrist and pulled me back so powerfully, that our faces almost touched at how close we were standing. My heart was beating so loud and fast that I'm pretty sure Mina and Wendy could hear it all the way from the school café.
"What's wrong with you today, babygirl?" he asked, and looked deep into my eyes. I avoided his gaze. Breathe, Lisa, breathe! Don't fall deeper! Don't!
I couldn't believe he was bringing up the babygirl thing again. Why? I thought he didn't want me in his life after he wrote that stupid note.
"The question is", I began as I caught my breath for a few seconds, "what is wrong with you?"
"Hm?" he looked at me as if he'd just seen a ghost. He clearly didn't understand my message. I sighed and pulled out the little note from my backpack.
"Here", I said, and pushed the note against his chest. "Maybe this can explain that I'm not your babygirl, and I'll certainly never be."
My phone buzzed again. New message from Wendy.
"Bye, um...player", I said, smiled childishly, and left without looking back.
