Part 13

Lisa's P.O.V.

"Guys, quiet!" Yuqi whisper-shouted at us. "I know Minnie is home, I can hear her footsteps and her discussion with the maid. Stay well hidden and don't talk so we can keep the surprise."

I was sitting under the table, next to Jisoo and Rosé, trying as hard as I could not to laugh at Yuqi's bossy, but cute attitude. Minnie was about to come in the room any minute, so we needed to succeed with this surprise.

I took a glance at Jungkook who was laughing and messing around with his friends, but when he saw me, his facial expression became serious, if not sorrowful. I could see that little bit of pain in his eyes, that somehow hurt me as well.

Did he read the note? Is he sorry for what he did?

I took a better thought.

Nah, don't think so. After all, he's Jeon Jungkook the fucker. He wouldn't ever have regrets for breaking someone's heart, right? Just like he did with Soyeon. Carelessness. That's all he has. Right?...

We heard the door crack open, and saw Minnie's Versace high heels touch the floor. Right then, we all popped out.

"SURPRISE!" we shouted, and began laughing loudly at how shocked she seemed.

"Happy birthday, Minnie!" we all exclaimed, and hugged her with our gifts.

"Thank you guys so much", she said. "I'm impressed!" she hugged Yuqi first and thanked her for planning everything, and then got back to the rest of us.

*1 hour into the party*

"Wow, this is so good!" Jisoo unnie exclaimed, half her mouth filled with fries. "Yuqi really did invest into this event, no joke."

Everyone was having fun so far; the boys were playing volleyball with Seulgi and Mina, Rosé was on the zipline (yes, Minnie legit has a zipline in her garden), and Jennie was having a water fight with Yeri and Joy.

"WHOOOO!" we heard Irene shout from the trampoline. "This is so much fun!" she exclaimed as she jumped higher and higher.

Jisoo and I watched her smiling. A great idea came to my mind.

"What are you waiting for?! Let's join her!" I exclaimed, and pulled Jisoo unnie by the wrist so we could both go to the trampoline, chuckling all the way through.

*10 minutes later*

"I think I'll throw up", Jisoo unnie stated. "It is just 6pm, which means the drinking part didn't even start yet, and I already feel like my entire stomach is churning the hell out of itself. Why did I jump in the trampoline after eating so much? Ugh, bad decision!"

I chuckled softly. "Well, this is why you shouldn't listen to maknaes", I replied, and she nodded in agreement.

"I'll go to the bathroom - I have to change", I said. "I'll be right back, wait for me!"

As I got in front of the bathroom, I was relieved. As I've said before, Minnie was very rich and she had a mansion - therefore, I was more than sure I was going to get lost and never even find the damn bathroom, even after asking 3 maids. Turns out, I wasn't actually lost.

As I touched the doorknob to open it, I heard a voice.

"We meet again, I see."

I didn't even bother to check who it was, because I knew.

"What do you want again?" I rolled my eyes at him.

"I want you to know I didn't write the damn note."

I choked.

"Excuse me, WHAT?!" I burst, too shocked to say more.

"I didn't. I made the person who did, admit."

"Really?" I widened my eyes. "Who?"

He sighed deeply. "It was Soyeon."

Ugh.

"I should've guessed", I said, out loud. "That girl fucking hates me."

"Yeah, I know", he sighed, his voice getting slightly deeper. "She thinks that if she gets you to hate me, she can have me back. But...it's a bit deeper than just that."

"W-What do you mean?" I stuttered, looking down.

He caught my hand tightly and lifted my chin, making me look into his eyes.

"Even if you don't like me..."

He paused and coughed.

"...I will always like you."
