So Close And Yet So Far

Here I am on the train,

Watching the other cars go by in vain.

I pass the city I called home,

Where I felt like I was encased in a glass dome.

I can almost feel the sea breeze,

The billowing palm trees.

The city traffic that leads to the water,

Where I was raised as the governor's daughter.

So close and yet so far.
