Pulling a tooth as a child was downright aggravating at times. You needed patience to wiggle it multiple times a day, take extra care to not induce too much pain, but then again just enough so that the sinewy threads would begin to fray. Eventually, the tooth would give way to a spacious hole left for the newbie to fall in line.
This all took...time, and Prince was typically not a patient man, but he was determined to do some changing. His life called for a lot of change.
Much like a tooth, Prince fully expected to wiggle Sabine for a long while about her reluctance to have a baby. Ready to make that commitment, she surprised him by being prepared to tell him her reason, or secrets whichever they would be. In this moment, he prayed he would respect what she was about to say.
"How about we talk about this over dinner?" Prince suggested knowing full well they were both hungry.
"Yeah...we should go eat." Declaring with a half effort smile.
His hand extended to her and they trudged up the beach to swiftly pass the restaurant with the loud band. The gentle breeze rippled his linen blouse and lifted her dress, flitting them to their final destination, a small quiet restaurant. Technically it was really more of an island shack than a fancy four star restaurant Prince was accustomed. The unpopulated eatery made it easy to select a corner table lit by only a few tiny votives.
After a quick scan of the menu, "What are you gonna have lovely?" Leaning his arms on the table and just enough inward to allow his lips to give a quick smack on her shoulder.
You try things out in the dark. Carefully confining her protectively into his body and blessing her temple with several kisses as her eyes scanned the menu.
Prince didn't really know what to order so he trusted her to decide for the two of them. While she examined the small menu, he watched her and imagined being her age but both of them in their teens when backseats and bonfire parties would have had them groping and tangled up under a throw doing naughty things to one another.
That's exactly how he felt right now and wanted the two of them to always be this sweet on one another, freeze time.
This pretend head play had him wondering if that's what happened between her and Clive. Were they just two friends who played a little too close to the flame one night and were suddenly in the act of Twister sex, sharing their body's toys with the other and mistaking it for love?
After ordering the boy snuck back into the kitchen and Sabine's gaze caught Prince just watching her, lost in his thoughts.
From the start, being with her...thinking of her sometimes plain stole his words.
"I suppose you're waiting for my explanation." With an arch of her back, elbows leaned onto the table and she clasped her hands together.
"No rush, simply taking you in. I can do that now ya know."
Her brow creased wondering what he meant.
"I can do that because you said to me that I'm yours. I like that. Can I assume you're mine?" This clarification made him think of all the times he used that possessive line on women. Coming from her it wasn't like that, it felt genuine.
Nodding with a smile.
"Good." Kissing her cheek. "Now be honest with me. Why don't you want a baby? Hmmm? Because in my head I've decided it's because of my age."
"Only if you're honest first because you haven't been honest with me." Much to his surprise she challenged him, directness was her best bet.
"How you figure that?" He was slightly defensive at her accusation.
