After all the congratulations, hugs and kisses were exchanged, it left the trio of Prince, Sabine and Vale left with the rumble of the waves.
Cleo was invited by Senea to stay the night with her and her family. It was a big step for Cleo to reintegrate herself into her sister June's family and she was excited to make up for lost time.
Per Herod's suggestion, he and Valeria were going to stay in town at the Inn but were going to take a drive to unwind post excitement.
As the two popped in the convertible car, Valeria wrapped a light scarf around her head to ensure the ride didn't whip her freshly washed and styled hair into a frenzy, a typical conundrum of island life.
Arm around Valeria, Herod made his way, tooling up the coast of the island.
"WHOOOOO!" Valeria cackled with hands raised at the flurry of the open salty air blowing on her face and whipping the ties of her scarf.
Valeria couldn't be happier.
The cooler evening breeze was divine, instantly taking the burn from Valeria's previously soaked cheeks from exuding all her happy tears. Quiet soon overtook the two who were not accustomed to being alone.
"Sabine was so pretty." From her mouth she burst, exhausted but drunk on all the joy of the day.
"Yees...yeees indeed. It was a lovely Valeria. Simple and sweet just as I like it."
"Mmmhhhmmm." She agreed wholeheartedly.
Dabbing her eyes Valeria continued and Herod attentively listened because he knew this evening was quite sentimental and this was her way of processing.
"I think Prince truly surprised Sabine don't you?" Inquisitively, Valeria solicited, wanting to know Herod's opinion but even before he could give it she went on to say more.
"I mean it was just a gorgeous evening. And that baby...my God...Herod I cannot tell you how blessed we are to have her and how much fun it will be to see her grow."
His huge and steady hand easily slipped into hers as he kept driving.
"I swear to God Herod...sometimes I think I'm dreaming. Everyone...our lives together...it feels like we've all been a family for years...so many new additions with Prince, Cleo and now Vale. Everytime I think, 'Lord, how will I do this, or we do this?' I swear he says, 'I cant wait to see how you WILL do it.'"
"Darling...you are Valeria DeVries...you are a woman sent by God. I feel that very deeply in my soul."
A deep sigh gave way as Valeria shifted her head from side to side on the headrest.
"You're so good to me Herod. So good to all of us. I cannot thank you enough." Chuckling as he turned down a path leading out to a peninsula.
However, Herod still concealed a secret.
"You tired Pepper?"
"No, not really just wondering where we're headed is all." Straightening her back against the seat, Valeria hadn't been up this part of the coast from their place.
Slowly Herod drove on a gravelly road approaching a home that appeared to be split in two with sienna terracotta roofs.
"Why...why you stoppin'?" She was more stern in tone.
"Let's go take a look."
"A look at what? What is this?" Not shy, she wanted answers.
Unbuckling his seatbelt and then popping hers, swiftly he exited his car door and went to open hers extending his hairy, manly hand to assist in her exit from the vehicle.
