The wrath Sabine spilled before they left for lunch...Prince was totally prepared for it. In fact, he'd be the first to admit he deserved it. No rewind button after this one. Categorically, he overstepped a boundary inserting himself into Sabine and Clive's relationship, but according to Prince, it was full steam ahead. He was exactly where he wanted to be.

On the drive to the restaurant neither one of them spoke and the fire seething within Sabine heated the car altogether on its own. She was so infuriated at his arrogance that Prince had the car set at a cool 65 degrees.

Silence between them didn't feel like that of two strangers, which technically they are. Oddly, even in their naivety with one another, their chemistry was like a pair of swans coupled together for life. However Sabine was expending a whole lot of energy denying Prince was her path and planning a wedding with Clive...or was she?

Prince already knew she was the blood coursing through his veins, residing in his heart and within his current weary bones that truly need his focus. As usual, his mind was on what he wanted...the tour, Sabine and transitioning some questionable characters from his life. His health was not a focus.

For the moment he resigned himself to his wisdom conceding that patience is what he was called to have allowing Sabine and him to unfold in their own time.

Unbeknownst to either of them, and before she could ever gaze upon him as an equal footing lover, there was a prophecy that needed fulfilled prior to them coming to fruition.

Prince was enlightened enough to see how buried in emotions Sabine was and her silence only accentuated it. Being engaged to who she considered her best friend yet drawn to another man was so unexpected. This circumstance had her feeling all sorts of negative emotions about herself and who she had always prided herself to be...virtuous and forthright.

The buzzer sounded spitting out a parking ramp ticket and the two slowly made their winding ascent all the way to the top floor until Prince pulled the car into a parking space. Cutting the ignition he decided it was time for a long, uninterrupted talk, some time to get to know one another and he knew just the place to do it.

"Don't you think it's about time that we had a frank discussion about us?" He suggested tentatively looking straight ahead while thumbs tapped the steering wheel. Eventually, courage fueled his body to lean in toward her on the armrest.

Her words were barely a breath, exhausted by her volcanic eruption from earlier. "Us? We're an 'us' now?" Her temper tamed by his sultry eyes. "Honestly I don't know how this got so out of control." In a flash, life was getting tiresome and her engagement was to be a fun and an exciting time for her.

Gently crossing her leg, she revealed the endless slit in her dress which Prince couldn't help but take in.

Gazing out over the Nicollet Mall skyline she mumbled. "One day my best friend reveals his true feelings for me, we get engaged and then somehow I'm entangled in your life and it just shouldn't be. It's not supposed to be like this."

"Who are you or I to say that we shouldn't be? You know there's some moth to a flame kind of chemistry between us. You're dreaming about me and I'm dreaming about you and..."

Softly sobbing she tried to compose herself. "My life is so fucked up right now."

"Yeah well at least you don't have anyone poisoning your oatmeal." Prince said with a chuckle, but honestly he was sad that it was his reality.

"Wait...since when are you dreaming about m-?" Surprised and wanting to know more about his dreams.

"Sssssh. Let's go have some lunch." His index finger dabbed his lips when he really wanted to pleasingly brush hers with his thumb and then latch with his lips.
