When She Comes

Chapter 54 - Hallowed Ground

Oddly, a serenity enveloped Sabine as the last flecks of light vanished under the mask she slid over her eyes. As the phosphenes claimed her vision, those little sparkly moving visuals that resemble stars when our eyes are closed, a copper flash of light made her gasp.

It was a particular angel visiting.

Many years ago, her abuela told of this angel that would announce himself with a copper flash, but she spoke of him like it was a legend versus reality.

Why would he appear now? She thought.

Instantly she felt enveloped by his love and protection.

It was Gabriel, the angel of revelation and announcement.

Gabriel often visits while people are dreaming, but there wasn't time for technicalities. When the copper veil lifted and became a sparkling white it solicited a broad smile in Sabine.

"You will understand very quickly that there is only one solution to this predicament."

Sabine giggle at the thought of Prince's sexplay as a predicament. She played along of course and immediately started in with questions. "Is there a problem? Because I don't have a problem. I'm happy and he is too. Isn't this what God wanted? Us together and happy?"

Gabriel prayed that his visit would instill courage in Sabine. There was a choice to be made, an unselfish sacrifice that would change the course of everything. All because of leaving one day...late.

"Hush child. Listen closely, there isn't much time." She felt a seriousness and a bit of ominousness emanating from him."

"Be strong Sabine. You must protect him."

"Are you speaking of Prince? We're leaving tomorrow. Everything is set."

"You Sabine...you needed to listen to the angels as they, we, tried to tell you. The alternate ending is in play."

"Alternate ending?" Her smiled deflated and Gabriel took on her fear.

"Be not afraid Sabine. Not leaving changed the course, you must know that. Turning an eye to us never works, it just complicates things. Prince's detoxification eventually leads to his purification and will build in even more strength and open the channels of communication between Prince and God. Your overall connection to Prince, he will finally understand and it will cause him to make decisions beyond his immediate feelings and gratifications. Your absence will enable him to devote himself fully to the purification of his body, mind and heart."

When Gabriel said absence, Sabine instantly understood.

"Gabriel...my abuelo...he came for me? I...I'm going...home." Her voice declared sweetly, quietly almost in disbelief. "How will this happen?"

Gabriel didn't answer her question, rather he whispered in her ear what Prince and Valeria already knew about her.

In that moment, she realized something that she never desired, was now everything she wanted.

After a hard swallow, Sabine slowly lifted the eye mask. Tonight she envisioned to be a romantic evening. Instead, her eyes were steady with KJ who was tired of being taken for the court jester and for ruining all of his plans.

Alternatively, Kirk was baffled by Sabine's calm demeanor upon making eye contact but that kind of coolness can only be expected from a great soul.

Most of the time, Kirk was led around by the nose and told how to do his job, that's of course when he had a job. Too many times to count, Prince had hired and fired him.
