The next few days breezed by and before I knew it, it was lunch time on Thursday. Maya had popped into my office earlier saying she wanted to do lunch so at noon I grabbed my purse and headed down to her office.

"Hey Maya, you ready to go?" I asked, checking in my purse to make sure my wallet was in there as I walked in then looked up and grinned seeing Amy and Tina sitting on the couch. "Holy shit I didn’t know you guys were here!"

"Surpise, bitch!" Tina said as she stood up and gave me a big hug.

"We’re crashing your lunch," Amy said as I hugged her next.

"Awesome! Are we ready to go?" I asked.

"We are now," I heard from behind me and turned around to see Seth in the doorway grinning.

"Damn Seth, you sure you can handle all four of us at once?" I asked.

"Absolutely. Just don’t tell Alexi," he said, referring to his wife.

"Deal. Let’s go," Maya said as we headed to the elevator. We decided on a restaurant about a block away.

Once we ordered Seth turned to me. “So Madelyn, what’s this I hear around the water cooler about you and a certain Tonight Show host?”

"What?" Any and Tina asked at the same time.

"Yeah, how was the date Monday? I’ve been so busy being super mom with Paul away we haven’t gotten a chance to talk about it!" Maya said.

"Date?" Amy asked.

"You and Jimmy?" Tina added.

"Yeah. Me and Jimmy," I took a sip of my soda to try and hide my smile, but it didn’t work. "The date was amazing. It was fun, nothing fancy."

"But he’s so fancy," Maya sang.

"You already know," Tina continued.

"Hey Madelyn… Did you taste that?" Amy asked from my left, elbowing me playfully.

"Amy!" I exclaimed.

"You really shouldn’t be surprised at what comes out of her mouth anymore," Seth said laughing.

"No, I really shouldn’t," I agreed.

"C’mon girl, spill!" Tina demanded.

"Well, when he picked me up he brought me lilies," I started.

"How did he know they’re your favorite?" Maya asked.

"He remembered that my grandma used to send them to me on my birthday every year." I told her with a grin. "Anyway, he took me to a little Italian place to eat, it was great. Then we get back in the car and he tells me we’re going to Coney Island. It was the most fun I’ve had in such a long time. It was great, we played games, went on rides, had some snacks." I paused so the server could give us our food. "I had cotton candy and as I was pulling some off to eat he grabbed my hand and sucked it off my fingers and he was looking right into my eyes as he did it. It was… woo!" I fanned myself a little. "God it was so hot."

"You know, I’m a little offended that you didn’t talk like this about me when we dated," Seth told me.

"That’s because we were both too weirded out by it. We we worked better as friends and we knew it right away." I told him.

"I always forget that you two dated." Tina said.

"It was only a couple months," I said with a shrug.

"We were kind of each other’s rebounds after bad breakups," Seth added.

"Actually… it wasn’t just the breakup that I was so upset about that day we first hooked up." I told him. "That was the day Jimmy told me he would be leaving the show in a few months and he was gonna tell his girlfriend he loved her. I felt like I had missed my chance with him."
