I’ve been back in NYC for about three weeks now and a few days ago I got a call from my realtor back in LA saying there’s been a lot of interest in my house. I asked Liam to come to LA with me to help pack my things and get most of them shipped to Mom and Daddy’s, and he and Stacy decided to come up a day early to enjoy the city while the kids stayed with Mom and Daddy before Liam and I left for LA and Stacy drive back to Boston with Sir Floof.

When I told Jimmy they were coming he made reservations at NoMad for us for tonight and said for us to meet him at his place at 6 because he had a meeting after the show. I put on a knee length little black dress with a low back and some red pumps, straightened my hair and left it down and did a natural look with my make up. We got in a cab and took the short drive to Jimmy’s apartment and I press the buzzer.

After a few seconds his voice came through the speaker. “Yeah?”

"Hey Jimmy, it’s us," I said.

"Awesome, c’mon up baby," he said an nd buzzed us in.

"Mads, don’t think that just because Jimmy and I were buddies when you guys did SNL that I’m gonna be cool with him dating my little sister," Liam said, using the nickname he gave me when we were kids.

"Just give him a chance, Lee. He’s nothing like Waylon, I promise. If he were, I wouldn’t be with him." I told him using the nickname I’ve used since I could talk since I couldn’t say Liam as a little kid, as we entered the lobby.

"He better not be, you deserve far better than that," he replied.

I waved at the security guy behind the desk as we headed to the elevator. We rode up to the seventh floor and I knocked on the door.

After a moment Jimmy opened the door and smiled at me. “Hey Maddie, you look beautiful. Liam, good to see you again, man.” He shook my brother’s hand and turned to Stacy and shook her hand. “And you must be Stacy, nice to meet you, please come in.”

"Hi, Jimmy Fallon, thanks for inviting us," Stacy said with a huge grin and Liam laughed at her.

"Really, babe? I’m right here," Liam said.

"No kidding, getting all starry-eyed over a guy in front of his girlfriend and your husband, probably not not that smart, Stace," I added as Jimmy closed the door behind us chuckling.

"Well I’m sorry, it’s not every night I get invited into the home of the host of The Tonight Show," Stacy said.

"Well I sure hope not, or I’d have to kick his ass twice," Liam said. "Once for stealing my wife, and then again for doing my little sister wrong."

"Oh don’t worry, Lee, he does me very right," I said and winked at Jimmy who just shook his head at me, Liam and I have always had a teasing relationship so it’s not the first time he’s heard this type of banter between us.

“Madelyn Kate! I do not want to hear these things!” Liam exclaimed.

"Liam Andrew! Tough shit, if I have to hear about you from her," I pointed at Stacy. "It’s only fair."

"Well this might be a mistake, but how about a glass of wine before we leave?" Jimmy asked as we headed into the kitchen. It was the first time my back was to him and I could see his face in the mirror above the fireplace his left eyebrow raised and I heard a soft "Wow." Before his eyes met mine in the mirror and he winked at me.

"Now Fallon, you know I like you and we’ve always been cool," Liam started after Jimmy poured some wine into four glasses and passed them out and draped one arm around my shoulders. "But if you break my little sister’s heart I’ll kick your ass just like I did to the last asshole."
