I wake up to the sound of music. The radio is turned on and it plays the Beatles. My supposed favorite music group.
I open my eyes and I get up. I'm wearing Calvin's large T-shirt and nothing behind. Talking about him, he enters the apartment with a box of cinnamon rolls. My supposed favorite edible thing. And he's wearing the T-shirt I'm supposed to like the most. What is he going to tell me ?
« I got my salary increased ! He says with a big smile on his face. I play my role perfectly :
« Oh my god, honey I'm so proud of you ! »
I kiss him gently. He's like all men. He likes to be flattered.
Calvin Chopster and I are living the perfect love life. We are a great couple, we have lots of friends and we earn each month enough money to live a good life in a little flat on the 6th floor of big building. Well, this is not very good. I'd make sure we win something at lottery someday (identity number 45 : Vanilla Merchury, member of the Lottery Control.)
I was thinking about that when suddenly the ring bells. I open the door, still wearing my large T-shirt. Before opening I murmur Calvin :
« Did you invite anybody ? »
He answers me, his head getting right and left. No.
At the door is a little fat man wearing a costume. - Who wears a costume at ten in the morning by the way ? - I ask him, with a sleepy voice :
« Yes ?
He answers me. His voice is a middle toned, a bit ripped voice.
« Are you Ashley Gordon and Calvin Chopster ?
« We are. What is it for ?
« I have the order to expulse you from this apartment.
Calvin comes :
« W-what ?
« Sorry, but the government wants to destroy this building and to build at this place a shop center.
« B-but...
« You have two weeks to move out. I have to go. See you soon- well, I hope not for you. »
He turns and disappear in the corridor. Calvin and I look at each other, not knowing what to do. Our perfect life is over.
Ashley is going to vanish into the air.
It's my way of life : when you're fishing with your friend counting on you and suddenly you see a shark coming up, be selfish : find yourself another lake.
