On a side note, I like Doritos.
Chapter 1:
It's the first day back to school from a four day weekend. I want to die.
I grew too accustomed to sleeping in late and watching Zoey101. My sleeping schedule was beyond messed up. My eyes were puffy from staying up too late and barely getting 3 hours of sleep; wisps of my hair were sticking up like it survived a tornado because I didn't wash it; all of my good fashionista clothes are in the dirty laundry pile. I look like a muggy dog.
Since it's a Wednesday, I have science first thing in the morning. Not to mention, it's the beginning of the year and we still need our new seats. I'm a bit excited, tense, and jumpy about the new seating chart. I hope I have at least Tyler on my table since I don't talk to anyone else in the class. They're all nice people, but I'd rather not talk to them.
I walk into the classroom and the first thing I noticed was the large black construction paper covering up all of the windows. The classroom looked a shade darker because of it. It looked rather depressing.
I glance around the room to try and find my iridescent blue nameplate on one of the empty desks. In the process of doing so, I see Tyler, my best friend, all the way across the room. I sneakily walk up to him all ninja style but before I attack he says,
"Hi Jess how're you?" He noticed me. It's over.
"How'd you notice me?" I ask
"I saw you walk in the class Jess. You're incredibly obvious" he retorts.
I frown at the way he always gives me attitude. I thought my sneak attack was pretty great.
"I'm still going to get you back for all those times you jump scared me. Mark my words." I moved my fingers in an 'I'm watching you' type of way.
Tyler and I always had this little jump scare war going on. I always fell victim to his scary and surprising attacks, my reactions were either a jump and if not a scream. So far I've never scared him and I seriously want to get back at him.
Tyler snorts, "I'm the king of pranks. You're just a lowly servant."
This bitch.
"Oh, Jess! We're desk partners!" Tyler exclaims happily
Oh yay!
"Oh look, Hayes is on our table too. Awesome."
I groan, 'I want to die times two.'
Tyler points over to the table on the far right side of the room. There I see a girl named Emily, and.... Hayes.
I walk over to the table and I see my nameplate across from his desk. I groan.
I tap Tyler's shoulder, "Hm?" He replies.
"Switch with me."
"Why?" He asks.
"I don't want to sit across from Hayes," I whisper.
Tyler stares at me, "Why? Are you shy or something? I mean, a lot of girls do like him."
"No, I'm the 0.01% of the population of this school that doesn't like him," I whisper.
"Why are you whispering? And I can't switch with you cause Mrs. Moore already recorded the seating chart down." Tyler grabs my shoulders and tries to push me to my chair.
I struggle and try to push backward. I stumble over my feet, traveling forwards. "Stop pushing me!" I hiss.
"Stop being a little bitch," he replies right away.
