My Little One

Karim's Threat

Yugi lies on the bed, facing the ceiling. Heba had to return to his own room in Prince Yami's chambers. The door slipped open and Atem slid in. Yugi sat up and Atem sat with him, then gently hugged him. 

"What's wrong, Aibou?" Atem asks and Yugi blushed a little at the nickname. "You've been quiet all day..." Atem admits and Yugi sighs then sat up. 

"Well...it's just the silver moon's coming up and it's a little unnerving," Yugi admits, but then pauses. "Not only for me." He adds and Atem's confused. "Umm...Ask Heba to explain..." Yugi admits, then smiles warmly at Atem. "He's smarter than me," Yugi admits before pulling Atem in for a heated and passionate kiss. 

Atem happily kissed back, then had to let go as the door knocked. He smiled, then quietly told Yugi to wait for him before slipping out. As Atem opened the door, he froze up to see Karim standing there. 

"Can I help you, Karim?" Atem asked with authority and Karim slightly shook. "I was busy." He added and Karim took a deep breath. 

"Heba has been injured," Karim stated as if it were nothing more than a simple fact for him. "He requests to see you, Prince Atem," Karim added with a bow. 

Atem huffed, then nodded. He sent Karim away, then returned to Yugi, who stood when he entered, spotting his love's tense muscles. 

"What happened?" Yugi asks and Atem smiles weakly. "Heba..." Yugi mumbles, before backing up, holding his head. "I beg of you...hurry to him!" Yugi cried out and then collapsed. 

Atem walked briskly, not wanting to attract suspicion if he ran through the palace halls. He finally reached Isis's office and Heba was lying there on his stomach. Atem hurried over and Isis looked up from Heba's back. 

"Someone attacked him, Prince." The Priestess, Isis, told him and Heba groaned lightly. "He is healing fine, but he is hurting..." Isis sounded confused and Atem nodded, then asked if she could leave the room. 

"P-Prince?" Heba stuttered and Atem nodded in front of his face. "K-Karim...he came for me." Heba stuttered and Atem was silent a moment. 

"Why did he?" Atem asked and Heba looked away. 

"Not me to ask." He told him before sitting up. "Ask Yugi," Heba advised, then Isis came back in. 

Flashback

Heba stood in the gardens, drinking in the sight of all the flowers. He slowly let his guard down and slowly walked towards the fountain. He felt a pain in his back and he fell down, a blade now stuck in his back firmly. His back pulsated and felt horribly warm like someone was gently squeezing his organs. He bit his lip, cutting into it and looked back to see Karim pulling the blade from his back. 

"Don't worry. I'll get you help. But be warned that if you go near Prince Atem again, I will personally kill you." He threatens and Heba tensed up. 

"I-If Prince Atem comes to me, you cannot hurt me..." Heba had bargained and Karim nodded. 

End Flashback 

Heba sat up and stretched a little before Yugi ran in and engulfed his brother in a warm hug. Heba smiles and hugs Yugi back. 

"Heba!" Yugi wept into Heba and clung to him like a child would to their mother. "What happened?!" Yugi cried and Heba slowly ran his fingers through Yugi's hair. 

"Karim came for me, Yugi," Heba told him simply and Yugi tensed. "We have to go to Father. For his help." He added and Yugi took a step back, looking petrified. 

"N-Not Father. N-Not yet..." Yugi stumbled on his words as Atem stared in shock. "You know how much I fear that man, Heba." He admits as Heba stands properly. 

"There is no other choice. It is Karim attacking." Heba told him and turned to Atem. "May I request two cloaks for my brother and me?" Heba asks and Atem nods before leaving swiftly. 

"Ate-!" Yugi began to cry out but Heba clamped a hand over his mouth and hugged him. "N-No!" Yugi wept silently and Heba sighed, then rubbed his back, trying to calm him down. "Don't...make me!" He cried and Heba sat Yugi down as Atem returned with two cloaks. "Atem...please don't let him take me..." Yugi slowly begged and Atem gave Heba the cloaks.

"Go pack, Heba. I need a moment with my love." Atem told him and Heba ran off. "Love, he would not put you in harm's way. I'm sure you will be okay." Atem told him and Yugi gripped Atem's biceps with all his might before looking at him with tear-filled eyes. 

"Our father...he used to hurt me, Atem." Yugi admits and lets go of Atem. "He would hurt me in ways that broke Heba entirely. Using magic. His own body. My weaknesses." Yugi told him and wipes his eyes. "I must pack too." Yugi admits, slowly calming down and running out.
