Chapter 26: How it happened.
*Kim Namjoon's POV*

Seokjin and I sat in the Dinner Room, alone.

There was a heavy silence over us and I didn't dare to speak first.

He seemed to be having a hard time explaining why he was gone. Maybe I was too harsh on him.

"..Namjoon 10 years ago, I—."

"Wait. Seokjin-ah~, you don't have to explain. If it's too hard for you, I don't care anymore, as long as your back. You're not obligated to provide me a reason," I told him.

His face softened and he nodded, "But still, I want you to know. If I don't tell you, wherever this goes, I'll be lying to you Joon."

I waited for him to speak up.

"So 10 years ago, remember when we went on that school trip and we could share a tent?"

A little laugh escaped my mouth, "Yeah, you didn't stop talking I could barely sleep that night."

He gave me a little slap on the arm, "Yah, at least I'm the reason we confessed."

"Whatever.." I chuckled, looking away.

"Namjoon-ah...when I disappeared, it wasn't for any reasons within my control." He started.

"I...," He paused, "A few months after we started seeing each other, I started noticing strange things and a strange person. It was like they were keeping an eye on me."

I stared at him, his eyes refused to meet mine.

"So about a year and half later, when I was walking back home after studying with you and the others...a black car pulled up next to me."

I held my breath.

He looked soulless, his eyes were red, a tear rolled down and his voice deepened, "They pulled me in."

"Jin.." a whisper escaped my mouth.

"They threatened my dad, it seemed they had planned his for a while, observed my actions. When I left, when I came back, what I did everyday, who I hung around...all because they knew my dad was the director of our school, they knew he wouldn't let me get hurt, they knew he had the money to suffice their greed."

Jin started sobbing silently.

I got up and moved to the spot next to Seokjin, placing his head on my shoulder as he cried.

"Jin...I had no idea. I'm so sorry." I told him in a quiet voice.

"Joon it's not your fault."

"No, no. It is. I'm sorry I couldn't protect you then, I'm sorry I thought of you so wrongly up till now. I'm sorry I blamed you for my illness, I'm sorry I acted so rudely when you finally showed up. I'm sorry."

Seokjin sniffed a little.

"The case is still going on, they couldn't find the culprits, but they've found evidence."

"How did you spend your time there? Did anything and happen to you."

He shook his head, "Nothing major. I don't remember a lot, but it wasn't a dark room or a shady place, it was in a normal house, in a normal bedroom. Of course, I didn't get to sleep on the bed."

"When I was given back after they took the money, my dad got a picture of the Van they were in and it's number plate, but when the police tried to investigate, the number plate hadn't been used yet." He continued.

"The case is still going, our lawyer says they have evidence that might lead to the criminal which they will send to the forensic lab. Joon, I would've come back, but my dad...he was too paranoid and sent me to America where no one but his trusted friends knew me."

He took a breath.

"I had to complete my education there, I've been going to therapy ever since."

"How come you're back? And here. —not that I'm complaining."

Jin smiled at the last part.

"My dad passed away a few months ago and I missed Home, So here I am," he smiled, "I've been seeing Nurse Jusang for therapy but she told me to meet her at her work place instead, and I'm glad I did, otherwise I wouldn't have met you again." He leaves his head on my shoulder again.

A smile crept up on my face.

Are there still chances of him returning my feelings?

It would be too sudden and rude of me, I mean, he's been through so much in the past 10/7 years, and I don't want to burden him.

It's been so long too, it's highly unlikely he'll feel the same way.

It wasn't my main problem anyways.

Regardless of my deep emotions for him, I needed to know if my schizophrenia would end.

Is this it? I know he's here, healthy and with me.

But does this mean it's the end of my illness or..?

Either way, now was not the time to think about either of these, now was the time to think about Kim Taehyung.

He was still missing, and we needed to find him tomorrow when Nurse Misung returned.

"Namjoon-ah," Jin started.

I hummed in response.

"What was happening earlier when I first saw you."

"..Jin, you don't need to worry about it."

"I want to know! I know it's about someone important to you, so if there's any way I can help.."

I sighed.

He's right, he may be helpful in this case.

"Our friend, Kim Taehyung, has gone missing. He is an orange band patient and suffers from bipolar disorder. He went missing when he had his regular check up, except our normal nurse took a leave so another male nurse substituted for her."

He nodded, signalling me to carry on.

"Before that happened, Nurse Jusang, your therapist, had told my friend Hoseok that she had seen Hanwoo with the medicine doses in the kitchen and found him suspicious. The more alarming thing about this, is this is how Yoongi Hyung went missing."

"Yoongi Hyung?" He questioned.

"...that's a story for another time. For now, he was a close friend we made here, something happened, and with the same pattern and trend he disappeared, then we found him in the red ward. Our fear, is that Taehyung has ended up there too."

Before Seokjin could reply or question more, the nurses, patients and doctors started walking in.

So did Hanwoo.
