You followed me home today. You thought I wouldn't have noticed it. You thought I wouldn't know that you were. But I did. I sneaked a glance at you as I turned the corner. You were way behind me with Noodle Head, and Mia. Noodle Head was with a girl. A girl with long brown hair, brown doe eyes, pale skin and was wearing a pink cap. I believe her name was Nina because I remember her from English. How is it all the dickheads get good looking girlfriends?
I couldn't let him know what apartment complex I lived in so I had to go in a circle but I had to run. As soon as I turned the corner and was out of sight from you I sprinted down the road. Sprinted for my life. I turned a corner and waited until I saw you appear and become confused as to where I had gone. You began to jog towards my direction. At this point I kept on running until I ran the whole block. I let myself into the flat block and caught my breath as I rang for the lift. I stepped in feeling like I was going to collapse. The mechanical doors shut and I pressed the 16th floor button, the metal buttons cool to the touch. I burst through the apartment door. No one was home. I was alone until my parents came back from their work at the court. My parents were lawyers. So sometimes they would come home really late. I rushed to my room and shut the door behind it. I lay in bed. Numbness flew through my veins. I didn't feel anything. There was no anger, sadness, joy, anxiety. There was nothing and I liked it.
"Sweetheart you coming down for dinner or have you eaten?" My father calls out from behind my door. He'd not come in because I had locked it from the inside. Something I did for privacy.
"I already ate, thanks," I lied. Truth was I hadn't eaten for a few days. I wasn't hungry.
That was another lie.
I was starving.
