~~~~~You didn't see Jihoon for days. Everytime you sneaked out to the café you both used to hang out in, he was never there. He wasn't at the Town Park either. He was nowhere to be found. And ironically, you didn't have his phone number.
You figured that he was still mad at you. I mean, even you were mad at yourself. You felt awful to have hurt his feelings. You never meant to. You were planning on telling him everything but he found out in advance, not giving you the chance to explain.
You felt like guilt and sadness was eating away at you.
You wanted to see him again, to make things right and okay like before. You had lost the one and only person that made your boring life feel brighter and bearable. But now he was nowhere to be found.
It was like he was avoiding you.
You've tried waiting at the café and Town Park, but he never came. In the end, you started to get tired and hopeless.
Your grades in private lessons also plummeted down drastically due to your foul and blue mood. Your tutor thought that it was because you were tired from all the dancing at the ball. But you never even once tried to dance that night. Besides, you didn't even know how to dance.
Your Mother and Father didn't notice much about your change in moods and emotions. After all, in all your life you learned to control and hide your emotions, so it didn't surprise you that they didn't notice or ask how you were feeling.
You lied down on your plush bed, staring up at the plain ceiling. Your thoughts went back to the first time you had met Jihoon. Back at the alley when a group of trouble maker boys pestered you. Jihoon came out of nowhere and helped you then, being all brave despite his short height.
You remembered the time he first held your hand due to the cause of people pushing past you and shoving you around back at the hectic traditional market. He held your hand tightly but gently, pulling you close to him as you two walked together so you wouldn't get shoved around anymore.
You remembered you had those weird butterfly feelings for the first time. Your heart beat fast in your chest as you felt your dainty little hands in his bigger but soft hands. You felt safe.
You blushed at the memories.
Then you went back to reality. He didn't want to see you anymore. He didn't want to be your friend anymore. And it hurt you to think like this.
Your mind was in a foggy mess. You thought about forgetting about him and everything and just pretend that you never left the palace grounds that day. But however hard you tried, he wouldn't stop running around in your thoughts.
You missed your dear friend, very much indeed. In fact, he was the only friend you had.
So you got up from your bed, a rush of determination and confidence going through your body. You went to your closet and grabbed a black cloak and headed towards the back garden and your secret tunnel.
~~~
You found yourself back at the alley where you two first met. But there was no Jihoon. His black locks and squishy but serious marshmallow face was nowhere to be found.
You walked further along the alley, searching for him. You were also careful if there were any trouble makers around, but luckily, there were none.
You walked and walked, hoping that you would bump into him or something.
When you reached a path that parted into two ways, you didn't know where to go. Jihoon had led you out into the town streets and to the café before, but you forgot the turns and abouts of the alley. You just had to go with your gut feeling. So you took a left.
