An: B/F: best friend.
~~~~~~
You never thought you'd get a part in the school's upcoming play. And you never thought that you would be partners with him.
You and some of your classmates were picked to play some parts in the school's play. It was part of your grades too. It was a little drama about an old tale of a cute couple named Jay and Jewel that adored each other but couldn't be together. It sounded a bit like Romeo and Juliet if you asked yourself.
You once had a dream of being an actress when you were a little girl. But now that you were older and in high school, the thought went away. You didn't feel like having an acting career anymore.
You sat around a circle table with your friends, discussing about the play.
Ann, the leader of the play was reading the parts of the play. But she was more like the director.
Your other friends were either listening to her or were bored out of their skulls. Some weren't really into the play either.
Soonyoung, Seokmin, and Seungkwan were busy playing table football, not paying any attention to Ann. They were being kids, as usual.
You chuckled at them.
There was also another boy that was busy in his own little world. Wonwoo was usually quiet and loved to read books. Whenever it was break time or whatever, you would see that he always had his nose in a book. He was a boy of not that many words. But he wasn't the bad boy or nerdy type either. You guessed that he was just quiet.
You always had a tense feeling whenever you were around him. It wasn't that he was scary or anything, but you just felt awkward around him. You rarely talk to him in class or even outside of class. You guys lived in the same neighborhood, but you rarely talked or interacted with each other.
He had his friends, a group of thirteen energetic boys. They were really close with each other, almost like brothers. And the girls would sometimes talk to him and his friends. And he and his friends was in no doubt popular among the girls. But for some reason, it was like he just didn't like talking to you.
And you felt a bit offended. You never did anything wrong to him. But why was he like that?
You looked at him as he read his book, not paying attention to the world around him. His eyes suddenly flickered to you, making you instantly look away. You felt embarassed for being caught staring.
Wonwoo casually coughed and went back to his book.
"Okay, I guess we'll be picking parts now.", Ann anounced, clapping her hands. She frowned when she saw the three boys still playing table football. "Ahem!", she cleared her throat.
Soonyoung, Seokmin, and Seungkwan immediately put their paper footballs away and turned to her, innocence plastered on their faces, as if they didn't do anything wrong.
Ann took a deep breath. "Anyway,", she continued, "Some of you will be the main characters of the play, some will be in charge of decorations and the stage, some dancing, and the rest are crews."
She rambled on about who were taking what parts and their jobs along with it. When she got to Jewel's part, you hoped that it wouldn't be you.
"The one that will be Jewel is...", she looked at her notes and papers. Then she turned her head to you. "Y/N."
You wanted to groan. You'd rather be the stage crew rather than be the main character.
Ann then went on to Jay's part. "And Jay's part will be taken by..." She looked at her papers again.
You wished that it would be a close classmate of yours.
"Wonwoo.", she announed.
Your eyes widened. Oh kill me now. You said to yourself. Anyone but him.
