You took a deep breath as you walked to the Queen's palace. This was your first time you would be seeing your two friends again. You had missed them dearly and was worried sick about them.
Seungcheol thought that it would be best to have you see your friends earlier than they planned. Hearing the bad news from Joshua, they had to quicken their pace with the breaking spell. It was only a matter of time that the Queen's wicked spell would turn permanent and you'd be stuck in this strange world forever.
So Wonwoo and Mingyu escorted you to the Queen's palace. You weren't exactly going straight to the Queen. No, that would be suicide. You guys were going to sneak in with the invisible coat and see your friends.
You guys rounded a corner and went to where they usually keep 'intruders'. You guys went to a room but they weren't there.
"Tsk. They must've moved them to another place." Mingyu mumbled. It was pretty hard to sneak into the Queen's palace. And now that you guys were already inside, you found nothing.
"Let's check the ball room." Wonwoo suggested.
And so you guys moved to the ball room.
On your way to the ball room, you took the time to look around the palace. It was very big and tidy. In every hall there was a painting of either flowers or scenery. It was a pretty neat palace, despite the fact that it belonged to a wicked ruler.
You guys arrived at the ball room and looked around. There were lots of people inside. Some were talking to each other and the others were huddled around, watching something. You took a closer look and gasped. There, you saw your two friends.
They were still dancing. It turns out that they were forced to dance to entertain the people. And they looked so tired and miserable. Their faces were pale and lifeless. You could see the pain in their eyes. And you noticed something different about them...
They had pointed ears!
"My friends! T-they have pointed ears now!" you exclaimed in horror, pointing at your poor friends.
Mingyu and Wonwoo snapped their heads towards the direction you were pointing at, just realizing that your friends were there.
And they weren't alone. There were a few other humans dancing with them too. You just realized this. You felt your heart sink.
Wonwoo looked at you with sympathy. "I think the Queen's spell is working faster than usual."
"Faster than usual?" you asked, turning your head to him.
He nodded slowly. He looked at Mingyu, then at you again. He hesitated, "Before you and your friends stumbled in here, there were a few other humans too."
"You guys aren't the first ones... The Queen's dealt with a couple more before." Mingyu added quietly.
"W-what happened to them?"
"Well, they... turned permanently into creatures like us and are stuck here." they both said solemnly.
Your heart dived into your stomach. There was no way you were going to let those poor innocent people and you guys be stuck in this strange place.
"We have to do something!" you exclaimed.
"We're trying, Y/N. But it turns out that the Queen's spell is working faster than before. But don't worry, we'll make it in time." Wonwoo tried to assure you.
~~~
You fast walked through the palace halls, not knowing where you were going. You were alone due to the fact that Mingyu and Wonwoo had left you behind. But it wasn't really their fault. You had wandered away from them when they were discussing something about the breaking spell. You wandered away to get a closer look at your friends. But you were careful not to be seen or spotted by anyone. And when you got back, you didn't know where they were.
