Little footsteps walked beside you as you looked for your favorite ice cream. You held the softest little hands of a little girl. She smiled as she walked with you, her soft hair bouncing up and down as she did so.

Your sister was going on a business trip out of town, so she asked you to take care of her daughter while she was away. You were more than happy to. She was the cutest little girl you had ever seen. And she was a really nice kid. She wasn't temperamental or fussy. In fact, she was usually calm but always full of life.  She was still a toddler though, around the age of four years old. But she was really smart and full of sweetness.

Today, you were going shopping. Your stock of food at home was running low so you decided to spend the day grocery shopping and going around town with your little niece.

You grabbed a tub of your favorite ice cream and put it in your shopping basket. Then you looked at your little niece and smiled, "Now let's get some of your favorite cereal."

She beamed and nodded her head.

You went to the cereal aisle and looked for her favorite, Cookie Crisp. It was also your favorite cereal. Oh, you could have breakfast with only cereal if it's Cookie Crisp.

She let go of your hand and pointed to a cereal box. "That one, eemo!" she smiled. (Sorry if i'm wrong tho. I searched up 'aunt' in Korean on Google.)

You nodded and smiled as you walked to her and took a cereal box. She giggled happily and smiled at you.

You giggle with her and pinched her cheeks. Oh, why is she so cute?

"Now what do you want to buy?" you ask her, holding her little hands again.  You pick up the basket. She makes a thinking face and smiles when she knows what to buy next. "Let's buy gummy bears!"

"Gummy bears?" you ask her with a raised eyebrow. "Does your mommy allow you to eat gummies?"

You knew very well how little kids would be when they ate too many doses of sugars and sweets. Although Mirae was a usually calm little girl, she would always get a little hyper whenever she ate too many sweets. Once, you couldn't get her to sleep because your friends gave her too much candy. They didn't know that she would be hyper. You had a pretty hard time getting her to finally go to bed and sleep, with a marathon of reading her bedtime stories and watching Disney movies.

Mirae looked up at you innocently. "Mommy allows me to eat candy. But she said not too much or it will make me crazy."

You laughed. Her? Crazy? No way, more like coo-coo crazy after eating way too many sweets. "Okay," you laughed. "Just a little bit."

You both walked to the candy section and searched for gummy bears. When you spotted it, you grabbed a little pack and placed it in the basket. Then you racked your brain of what was running out at home. Eggs, check. Milk, check. Ice cream, double check. Mirae's cereal, check. Ah, tissue.

You turned and look at Mirae. "Eemo needs to buy some tissue. After that, we'll go home, okay?"

She smiled and nodded her head.

A few minutes later, you were holding two boxes of tissues in your hand. You were debating on which one would be better to buy. One was on sale but the quality wasn't as good as the more expensive one.

"Argh! Why does picking boxes of tissues have to be so hard?" You ruffled your hair and sat on the ground.

You still lived on your own, so money was sometimes a big concern. You had to save money and not spend it on way too many things. You didn't want to bother your parents or sister, so you tried to make a living, well, at least out of being an English tutor and sometimes a babysitter.
