Alicia's POV

I turned to see Tristan standing behind me looking shocked and waiting for an explanation from me. And trust me, I had nothing to explain to him.

"Why are you blankly staring at me?" Tristan asked. "You better start explaining what you're doing in my room."

"I was... I mean I didn't...erhm...actually the..." I stammered.

"Get to the point already."

"I heard..."

"You heard what?" he questioned.

"Noises."

"So?"

"I heard noises from your room...so I came to check out...what was causing the noise." I lied.

He squinted his eyes at me. "You came to my room because you heard noises coming from here?"

I nodded.

"So because of these noises you heard, you entered my room?"

"Yes. I thought there was a thief in here."

"Oh really?" he asked, clearly not buying my story.

I nodded anyway.

"I locked my door before I left. So how did you possibly enter my room?"

"It wasn't locked." I lied.

"I remember locking it myself. I know very well that I locked it."

"But when I opened the door it opened. It wasn't locked."

"And I'm telling you I locked this door."

"And I'm also telling you it wasn't locked. If it was locked, how could I have gotten in?"

"That is something I was hoping you could explain to me."

"But I told you it wasn't locked."

"Okay." he said. "So you heard noises and thought there was a thief right?"

I nodded.

"So how come you have no weapon? Or did you think you could take out this thief without any weapon?"

"I know a little tae kwon do so I was sure I could at least defend myself."

He rose his brow. "Why do I think you are lying to me?"

"Because you've made up your mind not to believe whatever I say." I answered.

"I haven't. But your story is quite unbelievable."

"It's not a story. It's the truth."

When did I even have the courage to lie like this?

"Yeah right." he muttered.

"Why did you come back?" I asked, trying to change the subject.

"I came to take you with me."

I bet he couldn't leave me alone in his house.

"Why?" I asked.

"Because it's the right thing to do."

"Why is it the right thing to do?"

"It's better to take you along with me to eat than to leave you here all alone."

Was he afraid that I would find out things about him or he was worried about me being all alone and lonely?

"Okay." I agreed. It's not like I could continue searching.

"Do you want to come?" he asked.

"Yeah. I was just thinking it's going to be more of a date since only you and I are going to a restaurant."
