                       Alusia's POV

I watch silently from the shadows as the villagers prepare to turn in for the night. My eyes follow a villager as he rounds up the chickens, before flicking to another one. Once most of them have entered their homes, I stand up from my laying position, quietly shaking the dirt from my fur.

I silently make my way through the woods, keeping my ears tuned for anything besides nature. I make my way to one of the secret passageways that Luis showed me. I sniff the air and listen, the usual smells and sounds of leaves rustling in wind are all that I'm met with.

I shift back to my human form, before entering the secret entrance. I sigh, rolling my shoulders before moving through the tunnel. I run my fingers along the wall of the passage as I make my way to the meeting spot. I lean against the wall and pull out a lighter out of my coat pocket.

I toy around with a lighter, flicking it on and off, spinning it around in my hand. I pause when my ears pick up very faint footsteps. Soon the scent of cigarette smoke and a familiar scent hit my nose. I smile before putting the lighter away. I watch the path and soon Luis appears. "Luis."

He chuckles, walking over to me with a smile. "I hope I didn't keep you waiting too long. I hate keeping a beautiful señorita such as yourself waiting."

I chuckle, throwing my arms around his neck. I breathe in his scent, finding great comfort in it. "Never, handsome."

He returns the hug before leaning against the wall beside me. I close my eyes, resting my head on his shoulder. I feel him rest his head against mine. We stay like that, basking in the peaceful silence.

"Something is coming Luis. I can feel it." I speak up after awhile, finally speaking of the sense of dread that has made home in me for the past few days.

I feel Luis nod as he lets out a long sigh. "I've noticed your edge loba. Don't worry too much. It's not a good look for you."

I smile slightly, pinching at his side. He chuckles, grabbing my hand to stop me. "Ai yi yi. Easy Alusia."

He gives my hand a reassuring squeeze, voice taking a serious tone. "Whatever is coming. We can handle it. Soon, you'll be back in America. Just like I promised."

"And you?" I open my eyes, looking at him. "What about you Luis? What will happen to you once I'm gone?"

He smile at me, giving me a wink. "Don't worry about me. I'll be just fine. You're my top priority, Alusia."

We stay in silence for a few more moments before Luis pulls me into another hug. "I must go now loba. Be careful and stay safe."

I return his hug, squeezing him tight. "You too Luis. Don't get yourself killed."

He kisses my forehead before he pulls away. He gives me a smile and wave which I return. I watch as he disappears back down the passage, quietly whistling to himself.

I head the opposite way, listening to everything as I go. I make it to the exit, sneaking out. I adjust my hood and scarf before silently making my way to my safehouse. I keep my eyes out for traps and my ears for any changes. I crouch down, moving the board before slipping into the building, quietly let the board fall back into place.

I move to the small mattress, pulling off my jacket and scarf in the process. I fold them and set them aside. I pull my boots off and set them beside the mattress. I pull an oversized shirt out of my bag before changing into it. I sit down on the mattress, sighing heavily. I crawl under my blanket, laying down on my back. I stare at the ceiling for a few moments before curling up on my side and closing my eyes.

'I hope things will be alright...'
