Chapter 14

                       Leon's POV

     The door's slide shut after we enter a laboratory. Ashley stays by my side while Alusia moves past us. She stops beside the large equipment.

     "This is it. Luis showed me blue prints for it." She turns to look at us. I nod and walk over.

     "This hunk of junk? I don't know about this Leon." Ashley speaks, looking at it with skeptic eyes.

     "This 'hunk of junk' will kill the parasite inside of you. Unless you want to keep the damn thing." Alusia snaps at Ashley, causing the girl to step back with wide eyes.

     I place my hand on Alusia's shoulder. "Easy Alusia." I sit down in the chair. "Alright. Operation time."

     Alusia starts up the machine. I take a deep breath as cuffs keep my hands down. I look at Alusia and nod.

     She returns it with a small smile. "This will tickle a little." She presses a button and the machine gets to work.

     I groan as pain goes through me, my body lifting off of the chair. A painful process that feels like minutes only lasts a couple of seconds. My body falls back and I breathe heavily. The cuffs release me and I look at Alusia. "Some tickle."

     She just shakes her head with a small smile. "The parasite is gone."

     Ashley runs over to me. "How are you feeling?"

     "Like a million bucks." I get up out of the chair.

     "I thought you were gonna die. Alright. Guess I'm up." Ashley gets in the chair.

     I walk over to Alusia as she starts the process on Ashley, who whimpers in pain. I watch as the parasite on the screen fades to nothing. I walk over to Ashley when it's over. "You okay?"

     She throws her arms around me in a hug as a response. I glance back at Alusia who looks away, moving away from the controls. I gently push Ashley away. "I don't know about you, but I think it's time we go home."

     We leave the lab and head up some stairs. I find some ammo along with some notes on a table beside a large set of rusty doors. I stash the ammo and pick up the notes. I read them and shake my head, throwing them down.

     Alusia picks them up and her eyes skim the papers. She crumbles them in her hand before throwing them to the ground. She pushes the doors open and walks out.

     I keep the door from shutting. "Alusia." She doesn't bother to acknowledge me.

     'I don't know what that note the merchant gave her said, but it's affecting her. All I know is it has something to do with Luis.'

     "Leon?" I turn and look at Ashley.

     She looks over at Alusia before looking back at me. "Is she okay?"

     I glance at the woman in question, who talks with the merchant. "She's going through alot right now. But she'll be fine." I say the last part more to reassure myself. I look at Ashley. "Come on."

     We follow after Alusia. I do some business with the merchant. I notice his eyes keep glancing at Alusia when he thinks I'm not looking. "Something the matter?"

     He looks at me after closing his coat. He notions to her with a nod of the head. "Take care of her, stranger. There's no other woman like her."

     I look at Alusia as she waits by the lift with Ashley. I look at him and nod. "Already plan on it. Thanks."

     I walk over to the girls. I notice the uneasy vibe to Alusia. I look upwards and get the same vibe. "Something's not right. Ashley, you stay here."
