I walked into school completely tired, I couldn't sleep after what had happened yesterday, Alissa ran up to me completely full of energy.

"I heard you got drunk at that party how was it?" She laughed, I just groaned and dropped down at a table closing my eyes.

"What happened?"

"Charles"

"What?" She was completely confused

"He kissed me"

"Charles kissed you?!" She screamed

"Yeah and now the rest of the school knows thanks"

"Shit sorry, what about Joey?" I lifted my head looking at her like she was crazy

"What about him?"

"Did he kiss you?"

"Why would he, he took care of me after the party though"

"Thats sweet" she smiled

"Yeah well I've had enough of them for the past few weeks I just need a day free of boys" I dropped my head back down, then I heard someone sit across us.

"Hey" Joey, so much for a day free of boys.

I lifted my head, "Hi Joey"

"Woah what happened to you"

"Im just tired okay" I groaned

"Can you still tutor today?"

"Yeah bu-" the bell rang cutting me off and I got to class without finishing my sentence.

I sat down and when Charles walked in late he went up to the teacher, she nodded and looked at the class,

"James switch seats with Charles." Is he really that mad at me.

As soon as class ended I went for Charles but he was already in the hall by the time I had my things together so I ran into the hallway to find him.

"Charles hold up"

He ignored me and kept walking,

"Charles" He ignored me again

"Charles?" I grabbed his arm

"What the fuck do you want" he snapped pulling his arm away

"Why are you avoiding me, I know what happened was weird but you're still my bestfriend"

"You don't get it, I kissed you its embarrassing"

"How"

"You don't like me back and I want to get over you so stay away from me for awhile okay?" He sighed scratching his neck

"Okay I guess" I frowned

"See you around"

I couldn't pay attention during class the rest of the day, I felt awful for hurting Charles and there was nothing to do to fix it.

"Lex?"

"Huh?"

"You ready to go to my house"

I snapped out of my thoughts and noticed Joey was pulled up in front of me with the passenger door open

"Oh yeah lets go"

When we got to his house I just sat on the couch playing with Bella, "Are you okay? You seem distracted"

"Yeah I'm fine"

He rolled his eyes "Don't lie to me Lex"

"I really don't want to tell you"

"Well now you have to tell me" he said taking the seat beside me on the couch

"Well Charles-s he um"

"What about Charles?"

"I really shouldn't tell you"

"Just say it"

"He kissed me" I looked down avoiding eye contact

"Wait what, are you guys together now or"

"No of course not, he's my bestfriend I don't want to ruin that"

"I need to tell you something too"

I lifted my eyes from the floor and raised an eyebrow at him, "You do?"

"Friday night after the party, you were really drunk"

"Joey?"

"And we kinda-"

I cut him off "Oh my god we didn't do that did we"

"No what the hell, we kissed" he blurted

"Who leaned in first, because if it was me im so sor-"

"I kissed you" he smiled

"Why, I'm not going to be your rebound for Lauren"

He looked shocked at my response, "You are not a rebound ok?"

"Then why'd you do it" we made eye contact

"I um" he looked away

"Tell me I know it has to do with Lauren"

"No I did it beca-"

"if you just needed to get over her I get it"

"Let me talk Lexi"

"Okay."

"I like you"

did he actually just say that.
