Shaw

Shaw stepped over to Samuel after overhearing the doctor. Then the doctor walked into the waiting room.

Doctor-''Detective?''

Shaw-''Yes?''

Doctor-''Are you family of the lady you brought in?''

Shaw-''Her name is Y/N and I'm her boyfriend.''

Doctor-''Well, Y/N needs a blood transfusion because she's lost too much blood. Have you contacted her family or close relatives?''

Shaw-''Her family lives out of state. I'm all she's got here.''

Doctor-''If we don't find someone with her blood type....''

Shaw-''Test my blood.''

Doctor-''Are you sure? What if you're not a match?''

Shaw-''We won't know until you test my blood!''

Shaw breathed heavily.

Shaw-''Please?''

Doctor-''Alright.''

Then Shaw left the waiting room with the doctor as Samuel stayed in the room. After about 10 minutes, Shaw came back to the room and kneeled down in front of Samuel.

Shaw-''My blood was a match, Sam. I just hope it's not too late.''

Shaw sat down on the floor next to Samuel. After about an hour, the doctor walked in making Shaw stand up.

Shaw-''Did it work? Is she ok?''

Doctor-''Y/N is going to be just fine, Detective.''

Shaw-''Thank goodness. Thank you so much for saving her.''

Doctor-''Not a problem. But you played a huge part in saving her too.''

Shaw-''Thanks.''

Doctor-''She's resting now but you can see her in a little while.''

Shaw-''Thanks, Doc.''

The doctor left the room as Shaw kneeled down in front of Samuel.

Shaw-''Y/N's going to be alright, buddy!''

Samuel wagged his tail as Shaw hugged him.

Nick

Jay watched you as you entered Nick's room for the second surgery. About two hours later, you walked out of the surgery room and over to Jay in the waiting room.

Jay-''How did it go?''

You looked up at Jay.

You-''Nick is going to be just fine.''

Jay-''Yeah!''

Jay hugged you, spun you around and put you back down on your feet as you smiled.

Jay-''I knew you could do it.''

You-''Thanks. But it was a team effort.''

Jay-''I know. I'm just happy.''

You-''I am too.''

Jay-''Is he resting?''

You-''Yeah, he is. I'll let you know as soon as you can go see him.''

Jay-''Thanks, but you should see him first. I mean, besides saving his life....you are his girl.''

You-''Probably. But you are like his brother so you can see him when I do.''

Jay-''Thanks.''

Jay sighed in relief.

Jay-''I'm really glad he's going to be alright.''

You-''Me too. Well, I better get changed out of these scrubs. I'll see you later.''

Jay-''Alright.''

You smiled at Jay and then left the waiting room with a greatful feeling in your heart that Nick was going to be ok.

Jake

Jake, Amanda and Lily all waited for the doctor's news.

Doctor-''Well, the surgery was a success and Y/N will be just fine.''

Amanda-''So, what is the bad news then?''

Doctor-''She has a head injury.''

Jake-''Y/N fell out of the window when she was shot. She fell about 10 feet to the ground.''

Doctor-''There's no damage to the brain itself but....there's a big chance she'll suffer from amnesia.''

Jake-''What?''

Lily-''Is she not going to remember anything at all?''

Doctor-''She'll know who she is but everything from the last two years will be a blur to her.''

Jake was in shock as he leaned against the wall.

Doctor-''In many cases, a patient's memory does come back. But it will take time.''

Lily-''How much time?''

Doctor-''Its difficult to say. Each patient is different in these cases.''

Jake sat down on the floor making Lily walk over and sit down next to him.

Amanda-''Thank you, Doctor. Thank you so much for saving her.''

Doctor-''No problem. I'll let you know if there are any changes.''

Amanda-''Thank you.''

The doctor left the room and Amanda kneeled down next to Jake.

Jake-''Y/N is not going to remember me.''

Amanda-''Jake, that's not true. The doctor said....''

Jake-''I heard what he said! She's not going to remember anything of the last two years. That's the entire part of her life that she spent with me!''

Jake was devastated.

Jake-''I'm sorry. I'm happy she's alive....I just can't believe this is happening.''

Amanda-''I know. Lily and I will help you in any way we can to get her memory back, alright?''

Jake-''Thank you.''

Jake hugged both of his sisters as they all sat on the floor.
