Chapter Eight

"Yea. Sam is the person that I like," I pointed shyly at him while looking away.

"What were you thinking, Jil? With that immature kid?" Vincent asked.

"What do you mean by immature kid? We're the same age. Are you trying to say I'm an immature kid too?" I asked him, controlling my tears.

"I... I'm sorry. I picked the wrong term to use it. I meant just him, not you."

"Enough. Whoever I like doesn't have anything to do with you, isn't it?"

"T-that's true..." He looked upset.

I guess I was a little too harsh.

"Babe, you should've moved in with me when I asked you too. This wouldn't have happened if you just did. She's embarassing you," she said as she held hands with him.

Sam saw the look on my face and he held hands with me too.

"W-what are you doing?" I whispered to him.

"Quiet," he answered back.

This is the first time I saw Sam being serious.

After things had quiet down, Vincent's girlfriend went back and Vincent is left here with us.

"Jilly. You... Never said anything to me though..." He said with a sad face.

"Neither did you..."

"I-" he tried to explain but was interrupted.

"-I like Jilly. I'm serious," Sam confesses.

"S-sam...?" I looked at him, confused.

"T-think about it and give me a reply. D-don't rush... Take your time," His right hand covered his face, as if he is trying to hide his blushing face.

"O-okay..."

"See you soon. Perhaps tomorrow when we meet up with our friends... Bye. Take care," he rushed off and went home.

"I-I can't believe it..."

"Jil... Do you... Like Sam too?" He asked.

"Didn't I say I like him too? Are you deaf?" Ah... I messed up again.

"Okay. Fine. Have it your way," he stormed off.

"W-what does he want?!"

I like you... But you're not mine. You already have a girlfriend. I know there's no space for me in your heart. So please, don't make me fall for you any further.

"Oh hi Bernice. Havent seen you in a long time. How are you?"

"I'm fine, Jil. It's morning here so I'm going to have breakfast and go to work. See ya. Nice talking to you."

"Bernice's busier than before. I wonder if she has the time to do event with us... After all she is the guild leader..."

"You sound tired, Jil. What's wrong?"

"Vinc..."

I have a lot to tell him. About Sam. About my feelings for Vincent.

"Nothing... It's just that... A friend of mine confessed to me. I don't really know what to do..."

"You... Sound depressed. Do you not like him?"

"N-no! I-I like him! But... His 'like' and my 'like'... Is different. Pro...bably...."

"If he's a nice guy, why don't you try going out with him and see how it goes?"

"That's the thing... If you already have someone you like but can't be with, would you use someone else just to forget your feelings? I mean... You don't just 'forget' about your feelings... It takes time to 'seal' it."

Wait! I just forgot! I was suppose to meet Sam and his friends today! But... Vinc?! Of course Vinc is more important since it's a once in a lifetime...

*calling.... SAM*

"Hello, Jil?"

"Sam! I'm sorry but can I postpone the meeting today? I have something urgent to attend to today."

"It's okay. Me too. I have a meeting with someone important to me."

Huh... He already have a someone important, doesn't that mean... Yesterday was a joke?

"O-oh I see. Sorry! I'll be there next time. Goodbye. Have fun, enjoy yourself," I hung up. I feel kind of... Weird.

I've arrived 5 minutes earlier.

"Hello, Vinc."

"Hi, Jil. Where are you?"

"I'm infront of the fountain."

"Oh! I think I saw you. Blue coloured dress with floral prints, right?"

"It suits you," a voice can clearly be heard beside me.

I turned around and there is a guy, standing in front of me, smiling.
