"Mi-ne...you alright?" Megumi asked me with a worried look on her face.
At the moment Megumi and I were sitting at a lounge in the resort, the rest of our class was skiing and Reo was resting in his room. None of us felt like skiing again after what happened.
"I-I'm fine, don't worry about me." I stuttered out and gave Megumi a weak smile.
Megumi gave me a weird look, I knew she didn't believe me but she also didn't wanna keep pestering me.
The calls from an unknown number kept bothering me, who on earth would call me that many times?
"Oh, and then Risa told me that she didn't even remember what happened because she was so drunk-"
I looked ahead of me to see Mako babbling non-stop to an exhausted guy, wearing a black hoodie, who didn't seem like he was even listening to her. They were walking by.
Jungkook...
I stood up swiftly, our eyes met and Jungkook stopped walking to stare at me.
Mako followed Jungkook's gaze and saw him staring at me. She scowled at me and tried to drag him away, but he wouldn't budge.
Megumi looked up at me with a soft smile. I didn't know what to do or say, all I did was stare back at him.
"Mi-ne, could we talk-"
"Mi-ne!" Someone yelled out interrupting Jungkook who was trying to ask me something.
I internally sighed and turned around to look at the person who yelled out my name.
People have been calling my name from afar a lot lately...
There stood an out-of-breath Taehyung with a smile on his face. He walked over to me and hugged me.
I noticed Jungkook scowl at him, but he didn't show any signs of leaving or moving an inch at all. Mako gave him a menacing look, but focussed her attention on Taehyung and I.
"Mi-ne, you don't know how worried I was about you. You disappeared for so many days, I only recently found out that you had been knocked out and in a coma. No wonder you didn't answer when I called you." Taehyung scratched his neck awkwardly and let out a small chuckle.
"Oh um yeah, haha. Wait...did you just say that you called me?" I looked at Taehyung in horror.
So he was the one who called me that many times.
My hands started sweating and my knees started shaking again.
"Yeah I did!" Taehyung said with a bright smile.
I accidentally dropped my phone onto the ground, everyone turned to look at me.
I picked it up with a shaky hand and placed it back into my pocket.
"Taehyung...I never gave you my phone number." I said so quietly that it was barely audible, but everyone heard me.
I saw Taehyung's lips curve up a bit.
"Did the hit to your head cause you to lose some memories too? Jeez Mi-ne, I know you can be forgetful at times. After all...the little Mi-ne that I knew was like that, but I didn't think you were still THAT forgetful." Taehyung said and let out a loud laugh.
A fake one.
I kept my eyes glued to Taehyung's face. I was still shaking and sweating.
I'm certain that I never gave him my phone number, so how on earth did he call me?
"Mi-ne, you alright?" Taehyung asked me with sudden concern in his voice.
"Yeah...so did you need something from m-me?" I asked with slight fear in my voice, I looked down at my feet and clenched the hem of my shirt tightly.
"I came to check up on you, but I also wanted to know if you wanted to go out with me tomorrow. We could tour the city together!" Taehyung yelled out and showed me his box-shaped smile.
"Just the two of us...?" I asked with concern. Suddenly, I didn't feel so safe around him anymore.
"Yes, of course!" Taehyung exclaimed.
I struggled to catch my breath, I could feel black dots appearing in my vision. I think I'm about to faint...
"Sorry, um "Taehyung" was it? Mi-ne is still recovering, she needs to go back to her room for a bit. You two can talk later when she's in better condition." Jungkook intervened and took a hold of my hand. I gave him a weary look and he just smiled at me a bit.
Before Taehyung could say anything back to him, Jungkook led me away leaving Megumi and Mako dumbfounded. Taehyung on the other hand, shot Jungkook a deadly glare.
I didn't dare speak a word to him, too much was going through mind for me to even feel embarrassed about holding his hand.
I just stared at his back the whole time until we arrived at my hospital room.
I slowly walked inside the room and sat down on my hospital bed, Jungkook kept standing by the doorway.
Neither of us said a word, neither of us looked at each other. The atmosphere was so quiet and eery that it was sickening.
I had to break the silence...
"Thank you...for what you did back there." I said softly and twiddled my thumbs.
"No problem, that guy gives off a weird vibe anyway. You looked like you needed some assistance too, so I decided to intervene. You know him?" Jungkook said and walked over to sit down on the same chair that Reo had sat in earlier.
"Yeah, he's a childhood friend of mine. I think he's here on a trip with his school as well." I said absent-mindedly.
"I see..." Jungkook said quietly and glanced at me.
"Anyway, we have more important things to talk about." I said seriously and shot Jungkook a stern look.
"Like what?" Jungkook asked.
"Don't try and act dumb, you know exactly what I'm talking about. We've been avoiding each other this whole time, but in the end I knew the time when we'd have to talk about these things would come eventually...and right now is that time." I said and crossed my arms over my chest.
I tried to read Jungkook's expression, but I couldn't figure out what he's thinking at all.
I won't let this matter go though, we've been messing around enough. Now's the time when things get serious.
"So, fess up Jungkook. What's up with you and Mako? And what exactly happened between you and Reo?"
