People forget. In time our memories will all just be different dreams long forgotten. They'll be distant like balloons far into the stratosphere, forgotten and alone. Most importantly, though, his friends forgot.
Karkat Vantas's friends had forgotten. they had forgotten him, his dead friends, the humans. In turn, the humans had forgotten him, except one. Jade was the only one who remembered. Jade struggled with this concept as well, reaching up for something she could never gain. Then one day Jade forgot. Karkat was left alone, haunted by his memories, his dying friendships. Haunted by his nightmares, terrified of what was to become of him. When suddenly, everything just stopped.
Karkat forgot, in turn he was forgotten. His memory was lost into the vacuum of space and time. Lost forever into the void.
