Steve stumbles into the Curtis house. He was supposed to meet me, and the rest of the gang, an hour ago. I wasn't worried though, thinking he probably just got held up at work. But, I started to get nervous when Soda came home. I asked him if Steve was with him, and he informed me that he wasn't scheduled to work today. Maybe Darry's bringing him on his way back home from work, I thought.
I look up from the couch, and I run over to the door. "Oh my gosh Steve." I whisper. He got jumped, very obviously. His cheek was bleeding heavily, and there was a bruise forming under his eye. His left arm was bloody and bruised, and his right hand was holding his side.
Limping as he walked into the living room, the other boys rushed to his side. They asked him a whole bunch of questions.
"What happened Steve?"
"Are you okay?"
"Where are you hurt?"
"Who do we have to kill?"
He started to explain the situation, "Well, some Socs followed me on the way here. I tried to fight them off, b-but there were too many of them..."
I was silent the whole time, the shock of this situation was hitting me. Honestly, I was terrified. Why would someone do this to him. I look at him sympathetically and say, "Stop talking Steve. Let's clean you up."
I put my hand on his waist, on the opposite side of the one he was holding, and started to walk. Soda went onto his other side and put his arm under his armpit, trying to lightly carry him. Putting some of his weight onto me and some onto Soda, we shuffled to the dining room. We sat him on a chair, and I ran to get the first aid kit.
I've gotten pretty good with injuries, with all the fights the boys get into. Running back into the dining room, I thought of how I might want to become a nurse someday.
Gently guiding him to remove his hand on his waist, I lift his shirt and see a huge bruise. I sigh, relieved it wasn't bleeding or broken. Putting his shirt down, I start to clean his cut on his cheek. I didn't even warn him about the sting, he's been beat up so many times before, he knew the pain. He didn't even flinch the whole time, even putting the bandage on. I rub my thumb over his eye, he was definitely going to have a black eye tomorrow.
I told him about his black eye, but he just smiled at me. Well, he tried, he just inhaled quickly trying too. Too much strain for the cut on his face. "Are you okay, anywhere else you need me to check out?"
"I don't think so." He tells me, looking straight into my eyes. He shooed the other boys that were watching me clean him without even looking at them. They knew what he meant, and they left the room. "Kiss me Y/N."
"Why?"
"Because your so hot when you help me."
"Baby, I might so something to the cut if I kiss you. There's too big of a risk."
"Aw doll c'mon, just ONE kiss? I just got beat up. Just one, and I won't ask again."
I guess he did just get beat up, and that's what he just wanted. I quickly pushed my lips against him, and pulled away smiling. And he pushed through the pain of his cut, and grinned at me.
