Yuri gently opened the door and took a seat next to Monika.
"Did she try to call me.. Lil' Moni..?"
"Sayori and Natsuki went out to buy groceries, mostly for Natsuki's baking . I was thinking we try the level again..." Yuri spoke softly, and sat in her usual upright posture as she sat beside Monika on the bed. "I didn't mean to get mad before I just..." Monika sat up also, but held her face in her hands.
"I know I can't do things, but I can't let her see that."
"It's alright, we all get a little mad sometimes. Let's try it again, okay?" Yuri smiled, stood up, and held a hand out to Monika.
Monika grabbed Yuri's hand despite her sudden blush.
They sat back down on the couch and continued the level.
"Oh please go in... YES!" Monika jumped once the words Level Beat appeared on the screen. She threw her controller in the process, but she didn't care at the moment.
"I'll make some tea to celebrate.." Yuri turned the TV off and headed to the kitchen to start on the tea.
Monika put the controllers away, then layed on the couch.
She was out of things to do, but she brought herself back to the real world when Yuri set down the tea cups and sat herself beside Monika.
"How about we write our poems in advance? You always get lots of homework which leaves little time for poems.." Yuri suggested, placing fhe teacups in the sink. "Wow Yuri, I'd never think of that! C'mon we can get started now while the others are still out!" Monika smiled brighter then she ever had before, and she knew why. "I.. I guess it is smart.. I do it every so often.." Yuri walked out of the kitchen and searched for a pen.
A pen to write poems of course.
"Here, I found paper from Sayori's bag." Monika placed two blank sheets of notebook paper on the kitchen counter. "I have the pens, so we can get started.." Yuri handed Monika a pen, and both girls got right to work.
Monika looked over to Yuri.
"She's in another reality when she's writing or reading... It's sorta cute to see her this way."
"Think Monika! You're writing not admiring a person who will never love you!"
Monika was very aware she wasn't somebody Yuri would ever fall for. She knew with all her mistakes and times she bothers Yuri, she's only seen as annoying.
Out Of Reach
You're so close to me, but yet so far..
I know you see me differently then I see you, and you'll never see me like I see you
To me, you're perfect in every way
I wish I could be like you sometimes
But I'm not, I'm just me
There are many things I can't do, and even what I can do I manage to fail at doing
You're just too far out of reach...
Monika looked over her poem many times. She wanted to make sure it looked perfect and made sense.
Monika tried writing like Yuri, using sophisticated words and having a deeper meaning than "people can't do much" or "I desperately want breakfast".
"I can always write it on another piece of paper later on."
"How long have those two been out..?" Monika asked, looking at the clock. "Since you stormed off earlier... It's odd for them to both be out so long.." Yuri looked outside. It was around lunchtime.
"While we're here.." Yuri broke the silence. After writing poems, both girls retreated to sitting on the couch thinking of what to do. "I found a book at the library the other day... Reading it's description reminded me of.. Of you..." Yuri didn't make eye contact with Monika when she spoke. "Oh.. what's it called?" Monika asked. "Since the others are out.. We can go to the library and see if it's still there..." Yuri stood up and quickly grabbed a piece of paper before they left. She wrote that they were going to the library, and with that both girls started walking to thr library since it wasn't far.
"It's this one.." Yuri handed the book to Monika, who turned it over to read the description.
Alice was in a all girls Catholic school. This isn't an issue for most, unless you're a lesbian here of course.
Alice knew from a young age she was lesbian. She grew up around all girls besides her few pets and father. When she actually has a crush, she doesn't know what to do or who to tell if anyone.
Join Alice on her journey of her Catholic Crush.
Monika was slightly cofused as she read it. Was Yuri lesbian? Or was this just a random find? Either way, she wanted answers.
"Even if she does think that way, doesn't mean she's going to like me."
"It sound interesting Yuri, I might have to start reading." Monika gave a small smile and handed the book back to Yuri. "I was thinking..." Yuri turned to the side, playing with her long purple hair. "We could maybe.. Read it together.." Yuri finished.
"Sure! Is there another copy or.." Monika scanned the shelf, looking for another copy of the book. "This is the only copy they have. I was thinking we share it..." Yuri held the book to her chest, and finally looked back to Monika.
"There you guys are!" Sayori shouted, pouncing onto Monika and pinning her to the ground.
"Sayori?! Where were you all day?" Monika stood up and brushed herself off
"We were buying groceries at first, but SOMEBODY decided we should go get lunch. Said somebody also said we should go watch a movie, then we forgot something at the store so we had to go back. Turns out what we forgot wasn't even in stock, but this said somebody once again played the role of idiot and begged to stop and pick up donuts." Natsuki took in a deep breath after her story, but Sayori only laughed.
"Seems like Sayori fits the role of the somebody..."
Monika smirked at the two, an took a quick glance to Yuri.
She wouldn't have that with Yuri. Not only does Yuri not like her, but Yuri's bullying would be worse. It just doesn't work out in any way.
"Excuse me, but could you girls please leave if you're planning on hosting a party back here?" One of the librarians scolded them. "We were.. Just getting on our way ma'am.." Yuri hurried over to the check out. "Hey Yuri wait up!" Sayori called out, but Natsuki scolded her. "Did you not just hear what the lady said?!" Natsuki jabbed an elbow into Sayori's side. "Hey calm down, we'll get home sooner or later then Natsuki can get to baking and all of us can help make dinner." Monika broke up the argument, and met up with Yuri at the exit.
They both drove back to Sayori's just like how they came. Yuri and Monika in one car while Sayori and Natsuki were in another.
"Clear the counter! Chef Natsuki is in the house!" Natsuki picked up Monika's poem that was left in the kitchen and began reading it.
Before she could get far though, Monika snatched it from her hands.
She quickly ran with the poem in hand to her and Yuri's room.
Gently Monika folded the poem and hid it in her bag so nobody would find it and read it before the next meeting.
Monika could confirm one thing though.
She had a small crush on Yuri. She couldn't deny it anymore.
But just because she likes Yuri doesn't mean Yuri feels the same.
