Chapter 7

After the nurse finished patching me up, I was surprised Yuri actually waited for me.

"You... Uh... Waited.." I said quietly.

"Well you pretty much saved me Monika, last I can do it wait for you." Yuri replied, "Now what? Do we go back to class?"

That was a good thought. Monika had gotten fixed up by the nurse faster than expected, so their first class hadn't ended for another ten minutes.

"We could start reading Catholic Crush... I haven't started it yet and we've just been super busy lately and.." Yuri stopped herself, "Ah I'm rambling again, sorry.."

"You're alright Yuri, we can get to reading." Monika smiled.

"We uh... Need our bags, Monika..." Yuri said, almost hesitating.

"Hah, sure are right with that Yuri!" Monika nervously laughed, walking outside of the nurse's office towards the direction of the bathroom they camped out in.

"Here's the book, " Yuri grabbed the book out of her backpack, "do you want to read here?"

"Maybe not the uh... Bathroom... But instead the janitor's closet?" Monika suggested.

"Alright, I'll grab your bag--." Yuri looked to her side to see Monika with both her own and Yuri's backpacks on her back.

"I've... Ugh... Got 'em.." Monika groaned, bearing the weight of both bags.

"What does she even have in here?! Bricks?! Wait, no, festival planning starts today and Yuri is who I'm working with. Can't mess it up early."

"Do you... Need help..?" Yuri reached out to grab one of the bags, but Monika stepped forward.

"I've got them Yuri, don't you worry." Monika huffed, carrying both bags out of the bathroom.

"The er... Janitors closet it halfway down the hallway Monika..." Yuri said, pointing to the brown door on the right side of the long hallway.

"Uh... Yeah, you wanna take one Yuri?" Monika felt her face heat up, and of course wasn't pleased with her hormones at that moment in time.

"Quit blushing Monika! She's right there and doesn't think that way for you, so stop it! The festival is just for fun and nothing else."

Both girls proceeded to carry their bags down to the janitor's closet in one piece, quietly closing the door behind them. And with Yuri and Monika both leaning against the wall, each had one side of the book in the corresponding hand and started reading.

"Tell me when you're ready to flip the page, I'm most likely a faster reader than you Monika." Yuri gently whispered.

Monika only made an mhm in reply as both continued reading.

It wasn't too many pages in before Monika was caught by surprise when Yuri suddenly rested her head on Monika's right shoulder.

Her face heated up almost instantly, and she was as still as a statue.

"I... Uh... What is... Is she tired..?"

Monika had a feeling the bell would ring any minute, and didn't want it to disturb Yuri's resting.

"She'll fall asleep at this rate... I have to wake her up or the bell will..."

Monika took a moment to look at the resting girl on her shoulder.

"She's so peaceful when she's asleep... Stop Monika! God, the bell will ruin it any moment. Get back on track."

Gently, Monika moved her shoulder in an attempt to get Yuri up.
