"Monika, I'm not sure how to.." Yuri said, stopping the cart as Monika stopped infront of the turkey.

"Oh it's alright Yuri, never know if you don't try!" Monika smiled, grabbing one of the turkeys and placing it in the cart. "Anything else we need?"

"Carving knives and maybe some plates, but we have those already, oh what am I saying..?" Yuri panicked, pushing the cart to follow Monika.

"Ah calm down, we've got it all, now lets check out." Monika patted Yuri on the shoulder for reassurance and continued to walk with Yuri to the check out.

Once they got home, Yuri got the turkey out and looked to Monika.

"Should we call Natsuki ad figure out how to cook it..?" Yuri asked.

"Already on it." Monika headed over to the phone and dialed up Natsuki. "Heya Nat, could you maybe help us cook our turkey?"

To soften the story, Monika got a very harsh no for an answer.

"Time to Google it.." Monika put the phone back and brought her laptop over into the kitchen.

"Remove the packet of giblets from the cavity of the bird and save them for gravy or stuffing.  Next, rinse the bird inside and out (optional) and pat dry with paper towels. If you are stuffing the turkey, stuff it loosely, allowing about 1/2 to 3/4 cup stuffing per pound of turkey. See how to stuff a turkey.Tie drumsticks together with string, and brush the skin with melted butter or oil. See how to truss a turkey. Insert a meat thermometer into the thickest part of the thigh. The thermometer should point towards the body, and should not touch the bone.Place the bird on a rack in a roasting pan, and into a preheated 350 degree F (175 degrees C) oven (or follow recipe instructions) .Roast until the skin is a light golden color, and then cover the breast loosely with a foil tent to prevent further browning. During the last 45 minutes of baking, remove the foil tent to brown the skin. Basting is not necessary, but helps promote even browning."

Panting after reading, Monika gave a tired look to Yuri.

"Catch all that..?" Monika huffed.

"Eh... I'll just read it quickly." Yuri turned the laptop towards her and quickly read the instructions.

After lots of work after around an hour and a half, both girls managed to get past the first few steps before checking the temperature. It was a struggle, and had to Google how to do a few things like stuffing the turkey, but they did it.

"Preheating the oven... Okay Yuri then the oven to 350° for," Monika stopped and realized it didn't say how long, "uh just heat it for twenty minutes and we'll see what happens." Monika finished, and Yuri did as instructed.

While they waited, they started to set their small dinner table for the meal. So far they just had turkey, but they planned on going out to buy other things that they liked to eat to replaced the usual stuffing and potatoes.

"There's the twenty minutes Monika, want me to put it in?" Yuri walked over to the oven and opened it.

"Yeah, but it doesn't say how long.." Monika handed Yuri the pan with the turkey.

"An hour maybe..? Seems long enough." Yuri guessed, taking a look at the turkey.

"We'll see what happens. Set the timer and according to this we have to check on it when it's the last fourty-five minutes." Monika said, hoisting herself up to sit on the kitchen counter.

While they waited for this part, the girls decided to spend the time they had until the last fourty-five minutes to go to the nearby coffee shop and grab a cup.

"Wonder if Natsuki's doing anything..?" Yuri said.

"Probably making out with Sayori by a campfire while their turkey cooks." Monika snickered, also getting a laugh from Yuri.

"Wait, shoot shush Monika! Don't want her to judge you. But she laughed... Ah it's Thanksgiving tomorrow, just being the kind Yuri she always is."

They got home just in time, and removed the foil tent from the turkey. The rest of the cooking time was spent setting up a small bed-like setting on Yuri's couch for Monika to stay the night.

"What now?" Yuri took the turkey out from the oven and rested the pan on the counter.

"Erm... Put it in the fridge overnight and we'll heat it up in the morning." Monika said.

After that both girls said their goodnights and headed to their beds. The table was already set and all they had to do was thaw the turkey in the morning.

Monika yawned, sitting up to stretch.

"Did you sleep well Monika?" Yuri took a seat at the end of the couch.

Monika yawned once again. "Yup, hows about we thaw that turkey?" Monika blinked a few times before standing up.

"I'll get it out and we can have it sit." Yuri got up and headed to the fridge to get the turkey out to thaw.

"In the meantime, you wanna watch a movie?" Monika suggested, looking over her shoulder to Yuri.

"I doubt I have any you'd like..." Yuri sighed, walked over to Monika.

"Pick your favorite, and we'll watch!" Monika said, taking a few steps back before jumping onto the couch to take a seat.

Monika should have guessed Yuri's favorite movie would be horror related in some way, but after an hour and a half of jumpscares later the girls decided to start carving the turkey. Once they had finished, they brought the sliced up turkey to the table so they could eat.

"You know what," Monika said with s full mouth of turkey, "this isn't half bad for our first time."

Yuri swallowed before speaking, unlike Monika in this particular scenario.

"For sure. Wonder how Natsuki's would have turned out." Yuri smiled.

"Doubt it'd be anywhere close to ours." Monika boasted, once again speaking with her mouth full.

Despite only having turkey and water for Thanksgiving, both girls can safely say they would do this again.
