You were nervous, on the verge of throwing up

You were nervous, on the verge of throwing up. Your shoes clicked on the floor as you raced from the bedroom to the bathroom trying to pick an outfit. Taking one more look at yourself in the mirror, you sighed. This would do, it wasn't too bad and you had run out of clothes. Next up would be makeup, the eyeliner kept slipping out of your hand as you gently shook.

Tonight you had a date, but this wasn't any date it was with a rockstar. He wasn't any rockstar though, it was Lars Ulrich from Metallica. Your friends tried to convince you to turn him down, but there was no way in hell you would do this. No matter how nervous you were, deep down you were very excited.

Finishing the last touches on your face, you slipped into a pair of red pumps before searching frantically for your hairbrush. Lars was coming any minute now and you weren't ready yet. This was a bad habit of yours, procrastination was what you were best at. Figuring as long as you don't get ready you won't be rattled with anxiety, you waited for the last minute, and that of course made your anxiety worse.

The knock on the door made you almost jump 10 feet in the air.
"In a minute!" You squealed, quickly grabbing your purse.

Opening the door you were a bit surprised to find Lars in a leather jacket and jeans. You were all dressed and he was dressed for a slightly nicer concert venue. Maybe that's just how he was? He was casual. Or it goes with his bad boy image? Trying to not let it bother you too much, you tried to push it out of your thoughts.

"Hey." His voice was deep and made you melt like butter.

"Hi."

Awkward silence filled the air as your eyes met, you were frozen in your spot and Lars was still leaning against the door frame. "Ready to go?" His eyes gazed up and down your body, causing your cheeks to turn pink. Quickly nodding your head, you closed the door to the apartment. Twisting the key in the keyhole before turning to face Lars again.
"Where are we going?"

He scratched the back of his head, "I was thinking maybe the park? You look really great by the way." His arm slide across your shoulders, causing you to shiver. "Oh thank you."

-

"A carriage ride? That's sounds really nice. I've never been on one." Lars' romantic date idea really surprised you, but you were so ready for this date.
As the two of you approached the park your eyes first laid on this white shiny clean carriage, your heart beat like crazy.

Your face twist into confusion as Lars turned away from the shiny carriage and to another one. The driver looked like he needed a nice bath, while the carriage was faded by the sun. "Ladies first." He said, trying to help you up.
Maybe this wouldn't be too bad, looks weren't everything.

Lars sat down by side you, giving you a shy smile as the horse began to pull the carriage. It was smooth sailing until a car's horn honked loudly at a stop light, which spooked the horse. He bolted in the other direction, dragging the rest of us behind. You gripped the side of the carriage, your knuckles turning white. "Shit."

The driver gained control of the horse again, yanking on the reigns. "I'm awful sorry about that, I can give your money back." He had turned back to look at Lars, he shook his head. "No no, it's fine."

You began to get out of the carriage as Lars still talked to the driver, your foot landed on something soft. "Ewww." You exclaimed loudly, looking down at the mud you were standing in. These were your favorite shoes, they were most likely ruined. So far this date was not going well, Lars walked around to help you step out of the mud.

"I'm sorry, I should have come around and told you to look out." He looked so embarrassed you didn't want to yell at him. Instead you patted his hand, "It's okay, are we going to the restaurant next?" Shoving his hands in his pocket Lars thought for a second, "Yeah, it's down the road some."

Dinner ended up being a burger in the park because Lars wasn't aware he needed to make a reservation at the restaurant. This date was turning into a catastrophe, nothing like you had imagined. Finally the two of you went back to your place, no words were spoken it was so awkward. Unlocking your door for you, Lars held the door open.

"Thanks." You mumbled, "Take a seat."

Sitting on either end of the couch, you picked at your nails listening to the clock on the wall tick. "I'm sorry tonight was such a mess." Lars finally spoke, causing you to look over at him.

"It's okay, things don't always turn out how you want them to sometimes." Your shoulders shrugged, turning your attention back to the turned off tv.

Lars scooted up closer to you, "Really, I'm so sorry. You deserve better and I really fucked up." He was being really sweet, a smile spread across your face. "That's really sweet of you."

His arms wrapped around your shoulders, pulling you even closer to him. You gave him a quick peck on the lips, a blush crawling across your cheeks. Lars pulled you back into a more passionate kiss, leaving you seeing stars you swore.

"Let me make it up to you, how about another date?"

"That's a deal."
