Waking up I saw the tips of the four poster bed, the sun streaming in from somewhere and penetrating the soft fabric that hangs between them. Feeling the warmth of it on my face I lay there for a moment with my eyes closed. Then I heard voices, just outside my curtains.
"Oh look at this girls! I see a Hufflepuff is in here, probably put the hat on backwards knowing how stupid they are!"
Then about two other girls laughed.
"I put the hat on the right way, I'm supposed to be here." Said a meek voice I remembered.
Then, the confusion ebbed away, replaced by fear and excitement as I realised where I was. I was in the Slytherin house, my house, I was in a Slytherin bed in the girl's dormitories and my newest friend was being bullied right in front of my bed!
A heard a cry and a thump of someone being thrown to the floor. I lept up, throwing the covers off, and violently swang the curtains apart to find Sai on the floor, two blond girls looming over her.
"IF YOU VALUE YOUR PATHETIC LIVES YOU WILL LEAVE RIGHT NOW!" I yelled, face red and fists clenched.
I stood there, shaking in anger with my long, light brown hair tangled into a birds nest on top of my head, my shirt was black with green, cute cartoon snakes and my pants were fluffy and green. My eyes flashed forest fire green, my mouth was set in a stern line, my nostrils flared and lightly tanned skin flushed angry red. As hilarious as this picture seemed, the two girls still took off running. They ran out of the room and down into the corridor.
I took a deep breath and calmer I looked down at my friend, still on the floor.
"I'm sorry you had to see that side of me," I muttered, my body now relaxed and the red blush slowing retreating. I told you to tell me if the other girls have you any grief." I said, holding out my hand to her.
"I can handle myself just fine! I'm not a weak as everyone thinks I am! I was handing it!" She hissed, shoving my hand away and getting to her feet.
"I didn't mean anything by it. I just thought that..." I started, taken back.
"I know I'm sorry, thanks." She said, avoiding my eyes.
Wow, what a roller coaster of emotions for a morning. I thought, during an awkward minutes silence. Then I thought about what I must look like and blushed red.
"Um, I'm going to get dressed, see you at breakfast?" I said.
Sai looked down at her Harry Potter fan PJs that I hadn't noticed before then. They had my fathers ridiculous circle glass with this lightning bolt scar slightly above them printed on the front. Then his Patronus and wand randomly stuck on to her pants. I blushed even deeper. We exchanged an embarrassed look.
"I'm so sorry I didn't know I'd be at Hogwarts with you and I didn't have time to change them! I mean I'm a fan but I didn't know." She said in one breath before pausing and then continued. "I'll just stop talking now."
"Yeah, I think that is a good idea, is there any other fan merch you have of my dad?" I asked, flustered and embarrassed.
"Um... I'm going to get dressed now! See you in the great hall! Save me a seat!" She blurted out before dashing behind the curtain and sighing.
Extremely embarrassed and confused about this strange morning, I walked behind my own curtains and opened my case, taking out my robes and changing into them.
"I can't handle this much before breakfast," I muttered to myself.
After I had changed and convinced my wild hair to stay in some sort of agreeable position, I made my way from the dungeon to the great hall. It wasn't that hard, all I had to do was remember what I did last night and do it in reverse. When I walked through the doorway and into the great hall the entire place fell silent. If someone had dropped a pin I would have heard it. Even the teachers fell silent. Well, all apart from one. The redhaired principle, I still don't feel comfortable calling her Dumbledore after all father had told me about her great uncle, was still eating like she didn't notice nor care what everyone else was staring at. The lady with the greasy black hair, who, with my luck was probably related to Snape, was glaring down at me, a look of hatred on her face. She saw the redhaired lady eating and reluctantly picked her cutlery back up, the other teachers followed her lead. The students copied the teachers and within a few minutes, it was like I was never there. I took a seat at the Slytherin table, automatically the seats beside me emptied, well at least I didn't have to worry about saving Sai a seat. A plate magically appeared in front of me and the two beside me vanished. Breakfast food and a pot of non-caffeine coffee appeared in front of my plate. The smell was tempting but I had to wait for my friend. Remembering Stryker I looked over to the Gryffindor table, I scanned it once, then again and again. Looking at all the heads of the people sitting down I saw black, brown and the occasional red of a Weasley and some with normal blond but no white-blond of the boy I was looking for. Now very concerned, I started drumming on the table, I hope nothing bad happened to him, especially after what happened to Sai. Merlin, I hope she's ok too, she's also been a while. Nervously fidgeting with the hem of my robes I let my eyes wander around the hall. After a while I got bored and started to eat. The food was delicious and the coffee was amazing. Everything was just how I liked it. Remembering that this amazing place was actually a school and not a holiday home, I took out my school diary and opened it to the timetable.
"Oh, potions with Gryffindor, then Maths, History, English and COMC. What's coma? I don't want to be in a coma! Oh, wait, Hagrid teaches it. Must be Care Of Magical Creatures then. Dads told me all about that. Lol Coma, oh wait it's actually C-O-M-C, I thought it was an A. It was good while it lasted." I thought. Just then Sai rushed into the room, her skirt and top where smoothly patted down and her long, black hair was in a perfect plait. Self-conscious, I patted down my hair and smoothed out my uniform. She ran over to me, carrying her bag and her robe.
"I am so sorry! Oh, Merlin, I'm a mess! And I am so sorry about the PJs I swear I didn't know what was going to happen when I packed them! Oh, Merlin, I'm a mess! I am so sorry!" She said, taking the seat next to me.
I wondered what she was apologising for and looked at her again. Did she not know how beautiful she looked? And besides heaps of people wear my dads' merch, I just hope she doesn't bring it up again.
"Yeah well, you better hurry up and eat otherwise you're going to have to apologise to our teacher for being late."
She swore and started shovelling food into her mouth. I have her a gentle hit and told her not to swear. I opened her bag and took out her timetable, just because I was bored. The front cover was just like mine, black with the Hogwarts crest and school motto. Sai saw I had her school diary and her eyes bulged, terror on her face, she made a frantic grab for the diary. Intrigued by what could possibly be in it to make her react this way, I quickly pulled the book out of her reach. She still had a mouth full of food and couldn't talk so she just shook her head and looked at me with wide eyes. I smirk and opened to the inside cover. Oh, Merlin, I wish I hadn't. The inside cover had a photo collage pasted into of it, the kind that girls do with pictures of their crush or some famous boy band member, only it was pictures of my dad, the inside of her school diary was absolutely covered with pictures of my dad! There were pictures of him as a baby that looked like they where cut out of a magazine and there where pictures of him from just a few weeks ago showing him in his aura robes. And of course she used wizard photos so they where all moving. I quickly slammed the book shut, face yet again scarlet. She swallowed and just sat there, her dark face also tinged red, and stared at her feet.
"Sorry" she muttered.
"No, it's fine let's just go to class!" I yelled, throwing the book at her and standing up, forgetting all about the blond boy I was looking for.
