The Malfoy kid

The train jolted to a halt and woke me up. Luckily I was already in my robes. We were told to come off the train and leave our bags. Then came the boats, great, I really hate boats. They swing so violently and so suddenly like you can fall out at any moment. But we didn't have to row, that part was good. The oars are enchanted to row by themselves. Finally, the school came into view. Hogwarts isn't new to me. My mother came here sometimes she always took me with her. But I can't remember why or what we did. All I remember is the castle. I've been here so many times, yet it still amazes me, it's gracefully stunning. The old towers, the tall walls, the courtyard, all of it, beautiful. I was pulled out of my trance my an old looking half-giant. He smiled and waved at me. Confused I smiled and waved back. Maby he mistook me for someone else. My parents said that he worked here before they started going to school. He told us to gather around and get into boats. No more than 2 per boat. I didn't have to worry about that. No one wanted to get in a boat with me. Frantic I was looking around for someone that didn't mind sharing with me. Then I saw him or rather his hair. So blond it was almost white. A small smile crept up my face, causing some other first years to scatter away.
"Ohy! Malfoy!" I yelled, ignoring the looks on their faces.
"Well look who it is!" He yelled back, smiling. "I thought your mother would have kept you at home!" He joked.
"Ha! I'd like to see her try!" I scowled.
This caused people to walk even further away from me. He came over and sat in a boat, then patted the seat behind him. I smiled, pushed my hair behind my ear and sat down in the boat. Just on time, the oars started rowing and we were moving through the water. It was definitely better than I'd expected, the lake was calm and I couldn't feel the rocking. I looked at the boy in front of me that I knew since I was small. Well smaller.
"What house do you think you'll be sorted into, Stryker?" I asked him.
He just looked at me like I was stupid.
"Lilly, I am Draco Malfoys son, what house do you think I'm going to be sorted into?" He sighed.
"Don't say that! I'm Harry Potters daughter and I'm praying I don't get Gryffindor."
He wriggled uncomfortably and cringed.
"It's....different for you." Was all he said.
Before I could reply the boats gave a sudden jolt as they hit land and came to a stop. Stryker and I awkwardly climbed out of the boat and followed Hagrid to the castle for sorting. Surprisingly I didn't feel excited or nervous or anything. But I could tell that the blond boy in front of me did not feel the same, he was shaking slightly and kept twitching. I placed a hand on his shoulder and smiled supportively. We came to the castle doors and when Hagrid knocked they swung open. We went inside and Stryker turned as white as a sheet. He looked back at me and I thought he was going to run for it.
"I...I can't d...do this, Lilly." He stuttered, shakily.
"Of course you can. You can do this, just go up there and sit down. The sorting hat takes your wishes into consideration." I say.
"But that's the problem, I don't want to be in Slytherin, I have too....or else." He muttered.
There isn't much that can scare me but The Malfoys are one of those few things that can. My father is the only one that seems unaffected by the Malfoy family. He told me that after what he'd seen at school, the Malfoys were the least of his worries. I stared at Stryker, suddenly I had the strange urge to protect him.
I took his hand, he stared at me for a minute then held my hand back.
"You've got this," I whispered.
He blushed but said nothing.
The other children were looking around in amazement at the decorations and the ceiling but I'd seen it all before. So I just got in line and waited for my turn to be sorted.
